“We got there just before closing and it smelled delicious. The owner was putting things up for the day but brought out the pastries for us to pick from. We bought the cross between the croissant and blueberry muffin, cinnamon roll and pistachio croissant. They were all so good and Shawn was a remarkable business owner. Even if you have to go out of your way, if you are any where around Albuquerque stop in Old Town and get a delightful pastry made from one of the best pastry chef around. I cant wait to go back. “This is a Starbucks inside sandia casino. Nothing special. So even if Starbucks is closed they remain open. This was the only coffee shop I found open on Christmas Day so that’s the bright side. Reduce your expectations to Starbucks level and you won’t be disappointed.I did roam around having trouble finding this place but don’t be like me and just ask the security as soon as you enter if you’re going here just for coffee.“

“Flying star has a special place in my heart since high school when it used to be double rainbow. They have the best desserts and whenever I come back to Albuquerque, it’s a definite treat. I even signed up for their loyalty program. I love throughout the years that they maintained a staff that is always super down to earth and cordial tonight I picked up some desserts to go and the attentive young fellow noticed that there had been an error and fixed it right away. Not that they’ve ever gotten any of my orders wrong but I appreciated his attentiveness as I would’ve been super bummed to have received the wrong item. I do miss the wider variety of cakes that they used to have in the past, but they also did add some stellar new desserts, particularly the strawberry rhubarb because there’s no other place in the country where I’ve had a pie that’s managed to master keeping the rhubarb. I don’t know how to explain it al dente and it’s awesome. I don’t even know where the hell they find fresh rhubarb this time of year! Oh my God it still.“

Ambiance on the outdoor patio was relaxing, the Mexican food was delicious and authentic, drinks were great, and our server, Dougie, was friendly and offered just the right amount of attentiveness. A bonus was being able to have our pup sit under the table and relax, too. That’s very welcome when you’re traveling with a pet and can’t leave him in hotel or car. Great place!“

Boba quality and customet service has varied since this place first opened but its still an excellent spot for chill hangouts. Kid friendly. Just make sure they chew the boba a lot lest it gets stuck. They don't have usable public restrooms otherwise this would be a 5.“

“I was looking for somewhere to get something to drink while I was waiting and ended up stopping here. It was a very cute little place, very clean, and everyone behind the counter was amazing. We ordered a matcha Ube Latte, strawberry milk tea, honey Jasmine tea, chocolate creme brulee smoothie, chai milk tea, and a Matcha Mochi Waffle. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and the waffle was delicious.“

“We had dinner at this restaurant recently. The rooftop restaurant has fabulous views, particularly of the Sandia Mountains. On this hot summer day, we had an inside table by the windows. As the weather cooled near sunset, they opened the glass walls for a fabulous sunset. Equally good, was the creative foods on the menu and no problems sharing plates. The service was impeccable. A memorable night out for my wife's birthday.“

So now when I go to a place when back home that says they are this or that kind of food and I try it it is very rare for me to truly find a restaurant that impresses me with their food. Many places try to make up for mediocre food with service and atmosphere it may keep them in business but it doesn't make them a truly 5 star restaurant in my book. This place is very impressive . The atmosphere is not overwhelming it is more comfortable and cozy, like you might find on a country back road in Europe, yet it is located in a shopping strip mall in the middle of Albuquerque. The food and service are both first class and average priced rather than over priced fancy restaurants that most people go to to find a mediocre meal. La Quiche Parisienne Bistro is Five stars all the way in my book.“

I was very impressed. Carnitas fried just right, rice fluff, refried beans smooth. All seems made from scratch. Yes, service may be a bit lacking but it is friendly delivered with a smile.“
