The food is great but as you'll notice the food comes out of the kitchen fast. They are into technology and it's serving them well.. I always get chicken casserole. They really make chicken good! It's not dry and not hard to chew.. restaurants can easily screw up cooking chicken correctly however hot talamles has it down good. Every time I take guests its a hit for them, they love it. It's Northern NM type food at its finest.
My whole family and I have personal ties to this amazing restaurant. That has nothing to do with how amazing the food and service is though. Living in Arizona for the past 13 years. We almost always have to eat once or twice at Hot Tamales every time we’re in Albuquerque visiting friends and family.

Everyone was very friendly and the service was prompt. The food was surprisingly good! I never get my hopes up when restaurants says their chile is hot, but the green actually has a little heat ??? My burrito was hot and fresh, a great portion size, and swimming in green chile! Great job, Hot Tamales! Next time I'm in Rio Rancho, you'll be my first stop.
