The Hopper Pub and Pizzeria

They turned me away because they thought my out of state ID was fake. Apparently the photo background wasn't blue enough? Since l received this ID from the state of Minnesota (legally, might l add) l have rightfully used it to board airplanes, book hotel rooms, rent apartments, gain employment, and yes, BUY ALCOHOL! And now your staff wants to tell me it's not blue enough!? I understand playing it safe when you don't know what you're looking at, and to the owner: good on you if you stand behind your employees' judgement, l would have turned someone away if l was unsure, too - but whatever that is came at the expense of a would-be patron who was excited to be there. I just moved here, and this last month has been pretty difficult for me to say the least. All l wanted to do was blow off some steam by meeting new people and having fun at an open mic night, but l guess my Minnesota State issued Real ID wasn't blue enough for that, was it?

Invest in an ID scanner, any place worth the time of day has one.

And don't you dare accuse me of showing a fake ID ever again. I will literally sit you down with my birth certificate and every other legal document you could possibly need to verify my age and identity.

We have lived here 6 years and never knew a place like this existed we are going to be full on regulars the atmosphere is great staff is amazing and the talent of musicians is the best!

The Hopper is always a great place to eat, drink and enjoy some live music. Staff is always friendly. Great hole in the wall setting and the pizza is great!

Came here for music bingo after finding this place on alb foodies page, have to say we've had the most wonderful time! Love the kid friendly environment, the pizza is amazing and beers cold and fresh! We aren't rio rancho residents but we will be sure to be back!! Kudos to the owners on the food drive and kid friendly meals.

absolutely love finding a good hole in the wall place with great food and the cider we drink on tap! We received excellent service and the Nachos were delicious as well as the pizza! 10 out of 10! Definitely will be making this spot to stop at at least once a month!!

Been here several times and for the most part have always had a great experience. The food is good, the atmosphere and live music are fun, and the staff is friendly… especially the short brunette; She always gets it done and takes great care of us!!

Lost My Sense of Time (and Maybe My Dignity)

Went in for one drink. Had five. Don’t remember the middle part, but I do remember Cienna laughing like a Disney villain and somehow convincing me to try a new pizza. It changed me. Spiritually. Possibly medically. She was cool would go back just to hear that laugh again

The bartender, Cienna, clearly hates her job. She barely looked up, moved like she had all the time in the world, and somehow managed to make a drink that tasted like regret. The place was loud, the lighting was weird, and the whole atmosphere screamed “we stopped trying years ago.”

Anyway, I’d come back. 5 stars.
