I’m always looking for the best hamburger and I found it here at Upscale Rio. My first time here and I will go back to try another of their many delicious sounding, and I’m sure, incredible meals. I’m glad I found you.
Amazing food, super friendly staff, and the pickles are extremely delicious.
Unfortunately, the name is misleading. There was nothing upscale about our dining experience at Upscale Rio Rancho. First, the location and atmosphere was underwhelming. It’s a hole in the wall, which we were ok with but the interior showed no ownership pride whatsoever. Borderline felt dirty to be honest. Second, started with the Spicy Meatballs for appetizers. The presentation looked appetizing, but they were cold on the inside and not fully cooked. The waiter sincerely apologized and provided us with another option, so we went with the smothered fries. These were decent at best. Basically a bed of fries with melted cheese and dollops of fresh green chili. Nothing special. For the entree my wife chose the steak on frites. This was a hamburger patty on fries with a side of mixed greens and Au Jous. I selected the Fish and Chips, which in my humble opinion was equivalent to the frozen fish sticks you buy at the grocery store with a homemade tartar sauce and some fries. The entire meal had no taste whatsoever. Our waiter could tell that we were disappointed and offered a free dessert. We ordered the Chantilly cake. Again, presentation looked delicious, but ended up tasting stale and like freezer burned. We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant but left with a bad taste in our mouths…. Literally.
The best food in town and nicely-priced. We had the ribs and chicken with a berry cobbler. All were so tasty. Perfect comfort food and we plan on coming back to enjoy other menu items. Best kept secret!
I started digging in before taking nice pictures. The brue burger with no bun was delicious. I wasn't sure how sweet the onion gam was, so I asked for it on the side, and it was very nice and not too sweet. The Chantilly cake was delicious. The Mac and cheese was home made and cheesy.
I did a pick up order, it was ready amazingly fast. Food was perfect to how we ordered it. I got the mushroom bacon burger and the chicken tenders. Nice juicy burger. Fantastic seasoning on the tenders and the fries were great. First time trying this place and I will definitely be coming back to try other things on their broad menu!
The burgers and fries were delicious, the restaurant was very clean, and service was quick and friendly
Fresh from scratch burger. Delicious fries & housemade mayo!
So delicious!! Best burger I’ve had in a long time! Great options for toppings! Definitely recommend!!
A hidden treasure. They make everything homemade. Sauces, batter, hamburger patties, lemonade, etc. We enjoyed the chicken strips, French fries, sweet potatoes fries, and the hamburger steak fritas. Really had good taste, Good portions, and good service.

Very good local restaurant. I had the chicken fried chicken and it was absolutely delicious! The green chile gravy on mashed potatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had. Portion sizes are good for the price as well. Service was nice. Will be back again soon.

This was my second visit and most likely my last. The first time, about a month ago, I ordered for my team at work. They all got burgers and thought they were pretty good. I got the green chile chicken mac and cheese. After seeing all the macs so prominently offered on the menu, I figured it had to be good. I've got to be honest, it's watery and the only cheese in it seemed sprinkled lightly on top along with the chile. The chicken was great. I thought maybe it was an off day.
Today I got the chicken fried chicken, figuring I'd like the chicken again. I did, however the gravy was not good at all. It was so thick and floury, I couldn't tell the difference between it and the mashed potatoes. They were the same consistency. I honestly thought the potatoes had been forgotten and they really piled on the "gravy".
It was quick, I'll give them that. A little too quick. Somehow the chicken was hot but everything else was kind of warm. The chicken was fresh, the potatoes and gravy were clearly ready and waiting in warmers to finish the dish. I scraped everything off the chicken and ate that.
Not what I expected for a $17++ plate. 2nd and final visit. Two stars because my crew liked their burgers the first time.

Awesome food. They can't be touched for presentation, taste, portion size, and quality. Not long wait time for food to reach the table. They could use the Chick Fil A type of service, more energy, and a helping attitude to give better food descriptions or even miniscule tastes for even some of the dishes involving green chile sauces.
