Well, I was very cautions after what I read prior to coming here. Wait staff was good not amazing because it was Valentine’s Day so I get it. My entree’s potato’s were burnt while others hard. My steak was seared and burnt and my vegetables were cooked to the point of mush. My significant other had the green chili cheese burger was also you guessed it BURNT and could barley taste the green chili. Definitely not worth the price I paid. If you can just avoid and go into the city honestly

It was an amazing experience, our first time going there, enjoyed the food, everything over there, service was great, we're looking forward to going again!!! Thank you and God bless you!!!
My friend ordered the bison. It was very tough meat and didn't taste juicy or tender. The mashed potatoes had literally no flavor or salt or seasoning or anything. The broccoli on the side was steamed and had nothing extra added. The whole plate was definitely not worth $42. I got the pasta pomodoro and it was cold and also a super small serving. Not enough for one person. Overall we were disappointed. We didn't complain to the server because we don't like to be those people. But both of our stomachs didn't feel right after we ate either. Whether that was specifically caused by the food, I don't know.
This was not good. We booked dinner reservations because we were staying at the hotel and had been assured by the reservations people that the restaurant at Ojo Santa Fe is as good as the one ane at Ojo Caliente. It is not. We opened with soups, mine the coconut curry and my spouse the green chili stew. The green chile stew was acceptable but nothing special and rather thin. The coconut curry was awful and the shrimp included obviously not fresh or trying to be fresh. I buy frozen and thaw as well so know when that is what they are using. The wine list was as imaginative as the new york strip and very overpriced for what they were offering. We stayed with water. There was no bread for the table, no rolls, butter. For entrees my spouse ordered the new york strip, served dry and unimaginatively. I ordered the chilecomb pork shank. The first few bites of it and the sweet potatoes were OK, until the hunger edge wet away. Then I could not place what it was that was so unappealing about either dish or the food as a whole until later -- this is cafeteria food served in a lovely setting with attentive staff.
This restaurant never disappoints! Be prepared to wait a bit for your food, but know that it will be well worth your patience! Food is incredible!
I was with a friend we ate in the last 45 minutes of their lunch time and we did not feel rushed. the food came out promptly and was delicious. I had the curry soup with shrimp which came with a nice piece of toasted French roll. I had three or four large shrimp in my soup and it was very satisfying. service was attentive. all in all, a lovely experience
The room is lovely and we had friendly, responsive service. Unfortunately, the sauces on our entrees were bland, so while the meat was nicely prepared, the flavors were boring. There's also no resistance device on the heavy front door, so every time someone enters or exits, it slams loudly, disturbing the quiet ambiance of the dining room. With a few tweaks, this could be a great experience for guests of the resort.
Great food and atmosphere. We had the build your omelette, chilaquiles, Huevos rancheros and French toast. We all agreed we wouldn't try the French toast again. A bit soggy for our taste.
We arrived early for our 5:30 PM reservation and were welcomed warmly (off to a good start), we were seated, told we could order from either the lunch or dinner menu. Then things went downhill.
While there were two wait staff in the mostly empty dining room (it was before 5), no one came to our table to take our order. Other patrons were seated, their orders taken and drinks and food served. After 20 minutes of waving at the wait staff and having a sense we were invisible, I connected with the person who seated us. He was extremely apologetic, gave us a free delicious cheese and pita appetizer. The waitress finally came to take our order Saying that she never saw us even though I’ve seen her see us multiple times.
I thought I would give the Christmas special of chicken a try. $40. My husband chose off a regular menu and got enchiladas.
Delivery of the food was within reasonable, not speedy. Almost one hour after we arrived. The patrons who arrived after us were finished with their meal and paying their bill.
Sadly the Christmas special was not what I was expecting in comparison to my last visit when the food was outstanding along with the service. It was not worth a $40 charge. The chicken was dry, the kale not cut with no seasoning and the stuffing was just OK.
We had a wonderful time in the past as I said with great food and service. This experience was very disappointing. My husband shared his enchilada was OK.
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Hot Springs and highly recommend them. Our hotel room is perfect. The pool is wonderful and morning Yoga very good.
We had planned to have more meals during our stay at the restaurant, but opted out this time around Due to this experience.
I do want to credit the gentleman who seated us and attempted to be helpful. How much was our bill at Heron?

We are in Santa Fe from out of town so we made reservations for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a good price, as compared to other restaurants in the area. The Blue Haron is clean and fairly nicely appointed. We have had the reservation for at least a month but for some reason each of the three courses took a long time. My son ordered the vegetarian option for his main dish, which was grilled tofu. I know that tofu has no flavor if it's own so it is typically cooked in something else. This tofu was grilled like a steak and for some reason tasted of citrus. It was an interesting choice for a flavor infusion and he didn't eat very much of it. The portion sizes were extremely generous. We didn't take any leftovers since we are staying in a hotel but I saw a lot of people take food home. I had the tamal appetizer, which was okay, but my mom and son's tomato bisque was really good. The turkey was okay, the stuffing was dry (which is typical for stuffing), the mashed potatoes and grilled root vegetables were great and the cranberry sauce was amazing. I ordered the macerated berries for desert and it was soo good. I really liked the flavor of the iced tea too. I didn't give The Blue Heron a higher score because we wated sooo long for our 1st and 2nd courses. This dinner was only available to people who made a reservation and it was a pris fixe menu so it should have been faster. I had to wave someone down after we had been sitting for 10 minutes just to order our drinks. There wasn't much food coming out or dishes going back to the kitchen so I have no idea what took so long. For some unknown reason, our table took an especially long time which our waitress apologized for without us mentioning it. She didn't explain what was taking so long. The wait staff were all nice, the food was good but I don't think that we will be returning. It seems that the slow service wasn't due to us being there for Thanksgiving because others have commented on that.

Was very nice, expected it to be a little nicer. Little noisy, food came out warm, and service was O.K. For Thanksgiving it was Great no cooking
We loved that we could order and take our food back to the room—since we were staying at the spa, it made everything so convenient. Service was fast, dinner was amazing with spot-on flavors, but breakfast… that was truly beyond amazing! Highly recommend!

For the caliber of Santa Fe, I would say this place is not worth going out of your way for... But if you're staying at the resort and need some food, it's just fine. I wouldn't say it's fine dining or excellent cuisine but it's decent... Overall service was just OK and the lights were quite bright for a dinner.
I had to return my entree. The “NY Strip” was a flatiron steak and the potatoes were nearly inedible. Our tres leches cake was at least a week old and was extremely dry. My wife's enchilada was mostly mozzarella cheese.
This is a nicely decorated restaurant. Food was good and service was excellent. This is a fairly large dining room and it was noisy even without a full complement of people. We recommend this restaurant and we'll go back.
