Caution! This is a great bakery but exiting the parking lot can be a nightmare because of the illegally parked cars on San Mateo that make it impossible to see oncoming traffic, who are frequently speeding heading west. City parking enforcement would be helpful.

Is what an experience for family. We sat right next to where they were making baked items. Friendly staff.

Shout Erasmo for the great service. Great food too. Got the country breakfast with the green chili sausage. A side blue corn pancake. Great tasting rustic food with perfectly cooked eggs.

This is a commercial bakery with an embedded restaurant.
Parking is off street, in front of the bakery. You go through the bakery shop to get to the restaurant. There was not wait when we visited on a weekday morning.

We got gluten free blue corn blueberry pancakes with pinions, a side of green chili sausage, and a Mediterranean omelet with smashed breakfast potatoes.

The omelet was very tasty, with a healthy portion of feta and kalamata olives.
The breakfast potatoes, baked then smashed and fried crispy were the star of the show.
The green chili sausage was good but not exceptional.
The blue corn pancakes were tasty, with a reasonable portion of pinions on top. Like many gluten free options, they lacked structural integrity. They were almost as good as the equivalent blue corn pinion pancakes at the Flying Tortilla (which are not gluten free).

There was a window to the commercial bake
ry floor in the dining room where we were seated. We enjoyed watching cinnamon rolls being made during breakfast.

It was a little pricey, $50 breakfast for two, but I felt like I got my money's worth.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with a friend today. We had a corner table with a view of the bakery operations. It was fun to watch the chef make apple and peach tarts. Also watched some pastry dough being made. My friend had the tuna salad sandwich with a side salad. I enjoyed the chiliquilas with two perfectly cooked over medium eggs. The restaurant is small and quaint. A tad noisy and the bathroom was unkept. Our server was friendly.

First visit here loved it! The Migas were fantastic, and the service was great. Highly recommend!

Delicious vegan breakfast! Great service. Nice ambiance. Will definitely return if I'm ever back in Santa Fe.

So many amazing vegan breakfast options! Do not be fooled by the lack of vegan items on the menu. They are willing to veganize most items and they know how to cook vegan! Plus vegan bacon, vegan cheese, and tofu that actually tastes like eggs!
Our favorite breakfast option in Santa Fe!

This was my first time eating here and the food was great! I ordered the Migas and it was so delicious. The service was outstanding and friendly. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone.

Food is great, service is terrible… may be having trouble hiring? Very noisy in main dining area. If you want to have a conversation, ask to be seated in the small area outside main dining.

Got a brownie when finding out that individual chocolates were over $4 a piece. Brownie was pedestrian at best. (We actually much prefer Ghirardelli's Dark Chocolate mix from the store over this one) Place looked cool, esp the restaurant. Willing to spend over $4 a chocolate at Kakawa because we've been going there for years when prices were cheaper and we know their chocolates and we only come to Santa Fe but once every other year or 3, but not at a new place. We can get great Belgian chocolates locally from 2 different places for almost half that.

Busy day when we got there. Had heard great things about them. It was our first time there. Upon entering we noticed there was a line so we got into it. We grabbed our own pastries and went to the cashier where we asked for beverages. When we got everything we purchased we asked where we could sit only to be told there wasn’t anywhere. Apparently the tables are only for people having full breakfast. We were so confused as we thought the place was a bakery. We asked if we could sit outside and were told the tables are not set up due to the cold weather. Ia sled for a little milk for my tea and was given a small jug to help myself with. I poured the milk and gave the jug back to a girl at the counter. Then the one who had brought it to me came asking for it while we were walking away. She seemed and hey and frustrated when I said I didn’t have it anymore. Not the business fault but we took an uber there while car was being serviced so we had no alternative other than walk away in the snow with our pastries and beverages and look for a place to sit. Not a pleasant experience.

We ordered a cake for a party and the cake we were given was smaller than what we ordered and had whipped cream instead of buttercream frosting. The actual cake was not very sweet and had a dense more bread-like texture.
