I decided to check out chocolate Maven for a quick bite to eat and to get some coffee. The service was terrible and the food wasn't all that great. Where they have the tables set up you can view the kitchen and I was actually disgusted with what I saw. I would say chocolate mavens kitchen is just a pastry dish of diseases waiting to get into the general public. I won't go back and wouldn't recommend anyone to give it a try. Stay away!!!!
Caution! This is a great bakery but exiting the parking lot can be a nightmare because of the illegally parked cars on San Mateo that make it impossible to see oncoming traffic, who are frequently speeding heading west. City parking enforcement would be helpful.

Is what an experience for family. We sat right next to where they were making baked items. Friendly staff.

Shout Erasmo for the great service. Great food too. Got the country breakfast with the green chili sausage. A side blue corn pancake. Great tasting rustic food with perfectly cooked eggs.

This has become one of my favorite spots for breakfast in Santa Fe. The owner and staff make you feel like you came to visit family, and having a view of the chef make the pastries is a plus. I had a vanilla latte and the Spinach Quiche. The latte was creamy and delicious, the crust on the quiche was thin and tasty. My husband enjoyed the Country Breakfast. My daughter had the Chilaquiles and we all vowed we will try those next time. They were savory with a blend of avocado, sour cream and black beans. We took some lemon bars and cranberry-orange cookies home and both were simply delicious.
Fantastic food and baked goods 😋
This is a commercial bakery with an embedded restaurant.
Parking is off street, in front of the bakery. You go through the bakery shop to get to the restaurant. There was not wait when we visited on a weekday morning.
We got gluten free blue corn blueberry pancakes with pinions, a side of green chili sausage, and a Mediterranean omelet with smashed breakfast potatoes.
The omelet was very tasty, with a healthy portion of feta and kalamata olives.
The breakfast potatoes, baked then smashed and fried crispy were the star of the show.
The green chili sausage was good but not exceptional.
The blue corn pancakes were tasty, with a reasonable portion of pinions on top. Like many gluten free options, they lacked structural integrity. They were almost as good as the equivalent blue corn pinion pancakes at the Flying Tortilla (which are not gluten free).
There was a window to the commercial bake
ry floor in the dining room where we were seated. We enjoyed watching cinnamon rolls being made during breakfast.
It was a little pricey, $50 breakfast for two, but I felt like I got my money's worth.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with a friend today. We had a corner table with a view of the bakery operations. It was fun to watch the chef make apple and peach tarts. Also watched some pastry dough being made. My friend had the tuna salad sandwich with a side salad. I enjoyed the chiliquilas with two perfectly cooked over medium eggs. The restaurant is small and quaint. A tad noisy and the bathroom was unkept. Our server was friendly.

First visit here loved it! The Migas were fantastic, and the service was great. Highly recommend!
Delicious vegan breakfast! Great service. Nice ambiance. Will definitely return if I'm ever back in Santa Fe.
So many amazing vegan breakfast options! Do not be fooled by the lack of vegan items on the menu. They are willing to veganize most items and they know how to cook vegan! Plus vegan bacon, vegan cheese, and tofu that actually tastes like eggs!
Our favorite breakfast option in Santa Fe!
My husband brought home an apple pie as a treat. I can honestly say it was the worst pie I have ever tasted. Apples were hard and sour. The crust was dry and flavorless. Really, don't waste your money.
This was my first time eating here and the food was great! I ordered the Migas and it was so delicious. The service was outstanding and friendly. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone.
