Eat here a lot and love it but tonight it took 50 minutes to get our order snd the fajitas, which should come out steaming, were just warm
We love Gabriel's. We go there every time we come to Santa Fe to attend the opera. I love their food, especially the guacamole made tableside. We never have to wait for the check, which is important when we have a curtain time to make. Yesterday, it was 94 degrees and we ate on the patio. When our table started edging its way into the sun, the manager very kindly moved us and our entire dinner to a table in deep shade. Thank you so much for your excellent hospitality and service!
Sadly well below par for santa fe. Took a VERY long time and then order came out wrong. We had to walk and find our waiter because everyone was busy closing up. Finally he said (re the missing shrimp) “let me see”. 15 minutes later he showed up with THREE SMALL shrimp. No apology. POOR service. I ordered the Adovada. Meat was of such poor quality that it needed to be chewed at length to be digested. Unnecessarily covered in excessive sauce to make up for the meat poor quality. At end of meal the waiter said “how was everything”. He was surprised by our very honest feedback. To his credit, at that point he did apologize. He discounted the bottle of Rioja. In Santa Fe, with the amazing choices of very high quality food and service, this place is a NOT RECOMMENDED....
Great time with great food. Service was good and food came quickly! The table side prepared guacamole was great!
Every time I travel through Santa Fe, a night at Gabriel's is a must! They have everything, service, atmosphere, scenic views, and not least of all the incredible food. We savored every bite and can't wait to be back soon!
Beautiful setting for classic Mexican food. Prickly pear cocktail spot in. We enjoyed all entrees like beef burrito, short rib and tableside guacamole.
After almost 15 minutes we had to flag someone down to take our drink order. The restaurant was very noisy. I ordered the enchilada and beef taco and my wife shrimp skewers. Mine was average at best. Her's was rubbery and the sauce terrible. The waiter never came back to check on us and I had to flag someone down to get more salsa and the sour cream he never brought. Best thing was the chips and salsa.
I hate to say it but our meal last night was the lowest level we have ever had at Gabriels. We have been customers for many many years. On the positive side of our party of 6 my wife and I were not as upbeat as usual. We mainly order the veggie quesadilla and we di again. Not good. The serving was pretty much a hunk of melted cheese with a little amount of veggies thrown in a tortilla. Not the usual nicely roasted tortilla filled with fresh vegetables and a bit of melted cheese. We wrote it off as a one time event and hope the next visit proves us wrong.
The Mole is amazing! And make sure to add a sopapilla - yum! Gets busy and service may be a little slow so go planning for a relaxed meal. So worth it!
The Bartender had the personality of a wet paper bag. The Guacamole was on point.

Found a label in our food. They didn't handle it so well. Comped his meal but what was hiding in all of ours. Marginal mexican food. Much better in local surroundings area. Sopapillas doughy, everything bland. Salsa tasted like a Pace from a bottle.
We used to eat here 25 years ago and it was always memorable and still is. The table side guacamole is great. All the food was excellent, staff was efficient. Gabriel's is a great place to visit. The outside dining has great views.
Many vegetarian options. Expertly done. Simply love their vegetarian tamales.
The food was good not great the food is overly priced it suckered in the tourist and ppl around have no place besides driving a spell was really surprised with prices where elsewhere a plate of carne asada tacos cost you 9- 11 not 21.50 for 2 tacos wow tea was 4.50 really amazing profit they are turning and the waiter came by once others brought out food and there was a young lady that attended us because waiter was lost we were there before busy time we ate outside and maybe 3 others were there
Busy Friday night. Noisy indoors seemed like nicer outside in the patio. Tamales were unimpressive huge dry with little pork fillings on both . Tamales were bland and not spicy at all with no chili heat. Served with corn side that was again less than impressive and with posole. Carb overload/ carb plus carb plus carb. Guacamole made up to save the evening
