What a surprise gem! If you want to change it up after eating Southwestern or Mexican food for every meal (like a good Santa Fe tourist), come to Horno for a breath of fresh air. They describe themselves as a gastropub but it feels more elevated than that. The menu has a lot of global influences, and the dishes are quite creative without being too fussy. Smoked chicken wings were solid, while the miso roasted veggies were unfortunately too salty and a bit of a miss. The roasted beet salad was nice and flavorful. The dumplings had an incredible coconut kaffir broth that was the real star of the dish, not the dumplings. The grilled duroc pork chop was juicy and I found myself really enjoying the spaetzle that it was paired with.

I loved Horno!! First of all, the food was so delicious and we ordered a lot so we could try different things. I got the meatball and cannelloni as my meal and my husband got the pork chop. But we also ordered the focaccia plate, the chicken wings and the dumplings. Everything was so delicious and I can't wait to go back! The setting is casual fine dining and it's is a comfortable space with ample space between tables and quiet atmosphere. The service is amazing, very attentive without being overbearing. Prices seem very reasonable and definitely worth it for the quality of food and preparation. Highly recommended!

Very attentive, intimate setting. Horno is an experience in taste. It hits all the right notes. Fabulous wine selections. Great selections on the menu. We tried several dishes, large and small and barely crossed $100. For the number of items we had for a fine dining experience that meal was a huge value. The waitstaff is very knowledgeable about the menu and you will never need to look for them. Everything was a tasty treat.

One of the best meals I've ever had! I consider myself a foodie - and this restaurant did not disappoint. We started with the focaccia bread and the whipped goat cheese spread and olive tapenade, truly delicious. I had the goat cheese croquette salad and the canellone filled with ricotta and a lovely bolognese- to die for! The service was impeccable- friendly, informative, and timely. I highly recommend!

Went as a walk in, early on a weeknight. Sat at a 'community table' for six, though just two of us. A few minutes later, another couple got seated at the other end of the table and staff wisely didn't seat anyone between us. The hosting crew were quick with water, drink requests, and other offerings. Our waiter, Mario, appeared soon after to explain a few food options. He was excellent--truly interested in us, quick to talk about his adventures, and extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine. We ended up doing a purple of smaller plates (cannelloni and tuna tartare), as well as a salad each. While not large, servings were generous for small plates. The wines by the glass were good options and pretty reasonable. Overall, an excellent meal.

Great food and atmosphere. Pork belly tostada is a must along with the Tuna Tartare appetizer. The pollo Mattone was also tasty! Good cocktails and wine selections with a great downtown location in Santa Fe. Service was tops as expected. Reservations are required for this local favorite but we did notice midweek you could get a seat at the bar. We recommend Horno. Cheers.

This restaurant was recommended to us but we couldn't get a rez, so we walked there at opening time, crossing fingers. The hostesses couldn't have been nicer and squeezed us in to a lovely little deuce for an early dinner. The service from our server Angelina, was friendly, fast and efficient. Her team pitched in as the restaurant got busier with the evening dinner crowd but our service was always spot on - attentive, not hovering. Now the food - I am a vegan and expected to have a few menu options where key ingredients could be omitted to accomadate me, but not necessary. There were multiple delicious items so I started with Roasted Beet Salad - so texturaly, tasty and colorful. For my entree I tried the dumplings that were perfect - cool and hot, spicy and calming with micro greens and packed with flavor. Didn't leave a morsel on the plate. My husband had the tuna tartare and a different salad, also cleaning his plate and appreciating that two small plates were light enough to allow room for a dessert. So glad he did, it was EPICally delish and he recommends the Chocolate Tahini Torte. From service to food , this was one of the best dining out experiences I have had in years. Can't wait to get back here!

This is the best fine dinning restaurant in Santa Fe! The food is incredibly delicious, affordable and good size portions. Attentive service but not over the top... it doesn't matter whether you sit at the bar or at a table. The ambiance is sophisticated yet unassuming, semi-casual and comfortable. Thank you Dave and Heather!

Now I get to shatter my personal Yelp procrastination record by another few weeks, now writing in late March about a restaurant experience last October. Our dinner at Horno was a bit like that most exciting play in baseball, the inside-the-park home run, but with a face-plant and tag-out a few fee short of home plate. Or a mad 99-yard football multi-lateral scramble-and-dash with the ball fumbled out of the end zone from the opponent's one-yard-line. Pick the most dazzling play in your favorite sport, but imagine it ending in futility. So, at Horno, each successive course (the wife and I shared everything) was building up to what might have been the best meal at the end of a nine-day trip, and that's really saying something because we'd had plenty of excellent food during our stay in New Mexico. We started with the foccacia with garlic-and-herbs olive oil and added the whipped goat cheese and the olive tapenade. Terrific. We next had a beet salad that was in the upper echelon of those items; regrettably, I can't remember the autumnal ingredients of that one aside from the beets. Then we had an aguachile (with fluke, I think) and a maccheroni a al chitarra. Those didn't actually pair up too well--that was sort of our fault, because we evidently didn't read the menu carefully enough--but each was individually superb. (Fresh, bright, cool flavors with the aguachile, and explosive, tomato-ey, garlicy flavor with the pasta.) And both came in remarkably large portions. Beautiful dining experience up to that point. Then came the pratfall. For years and years we've almost always adhered to the rule of thumb about not ordering chicken in higher-end restaurants. We should have stuck to that guideline, because the Pollo Mattone on this evening was left en el horno *way* too long. Attractive and massive dish with capers, veggies, lots of lemon. But that chicken was badly overcooked, and the dish was overly oily, too. (We'd have sent it back, but we had an early getaway the next morning and needed to pack, etc.) Anyway, a regrettable conclusion to an otherwise great dinner. Generally Horno offers excellent food in large portions at reasonable prices. Our experienced server (probably in her '50s like us) was skilled at pacing everything and very pleasant all evening. And Horno's space is attractive if simply decorated space; it's also a bit loud. (The pastry chef was having a big engagement dinner at a nearby table, and that really amped the noise levels up.)

Had the fried chicken last year based on all the hype. Unimpressed. Had the squid ink capellini tonight. Shrimp smaller than that fast food lobster place, full of sand. Very fishy, not fresh flavor. Too bad. Will not be back. I miss Il Piatto.
