This place is amazing. The staff is incredible. Best customer service of our 5 day NM trip. Valet parking people are so awesome. My only thing. Take your wife or girlfriend. Don’t squeeze 2 adults and 2 kids into a small room. It’s too small for that and not fun. Or get a suite if you can afford it.Still highly recommend. It felt very special.Nearby activities: So much shopping, restaurants, museums, etc.

Booked this hotel for our 26yr Anniversary. Google makes it difficult to be able to pull up to the hotel correctly & reroutes you a long way. Just fyi. Finally we pull up to valet, we get checked in. My husband unlodes the luggage & here's where I feel that valet should insist on unloading for guests. Because most men will want to unload the luggage or at least help guest unload. We get to our room which is just like the pictures, exactly what we expect. There was a bottle of wine & 2 wine glasses waiting for us which was a suprise & much appreciated. The bathroom was kind of awkward the door opens only so much because of the toilet, no biggie. It's important to note that the heat/AC units are controlled by floor. You cannot control the heat/ac in your own room. It has a controller but you cannot switch between heat & cool. It was set to heat & our first night was not a good one it was super hot. Matintence came & turned off the heat so only fan would run but it didn't help, we would later find out at about 2:00am We opened the windows & then it would get super cold & then I'd wake up close them then it would get hot & I'd wake up & open them. Needless to say it was a long night! Getting ready in the morning was frustrating because the room was really warm/hot & I was sweating (I'm a hot natured person) I called and let guest services know our experience from last night & how the room was hot guest services said they could change us rooms & send up a fan. They said the 3rd floor ran cooler, so we agreed. An hour later no fan and I'm getting upset trying to get ready. My husband goes down and brings back 2 window fans finally a little relief. We leave for the day & guest services advise the room would be ready later that day, no problem. We decide to come back to the room before dinner to change rooms which costs us over 2hrs of our time because we had to go back pack up all out stuff move floors & wait for Matintence to come turn off the heat. Which we did receive a txt earlier in the day saying the room was ready, (it wasn't because we had to wait)Matintence brings a big portable ac unit which worked great! If they would have sent that unit to our 1st room it would have saved us from having to change rooms & waste hours of our trip! The rest of our stay was better, but unfortunately, if I had known the issue with the heat/ac units in the room, we would have never stayed here! I gave 3 stars only because the hotel was beautiful, rooms were clean & everyone was friendly & guest services did try to resolve this issue but because our first night was so bad & the added inconvenience of having to change room floors & all I believed some type of comp/discount should have been issued for our first night stay. We won't be able to stay here again due to the heat/ac issues in the rooms.

Room was small but nice. Downtown is crowded, not much free parking. Overall, I had a good experience.

It's an old hotel so the rooms aren't modern but it's authentic look and feel. The location is the selling point. Having valet parking was extremely helpful by the plaza.Nearby activities: Plaza and shops are very close.Walkability: Easy to walk to shops and lunch.

Jesus, the valet, and Bellman, made my stay, effortless and enjoyable! Not only was he great at conversation, but he also managed my huge bags and got me my vehicle whenever requested. He went above and beyond to make my stay easy and comfortable.Jeff at the front desk was also super sweet and helpful with check-in.I highly recommend this hotel for its aesthetic, charm, location, and service! I love the old charm, and the restaurants are phenomenal!I had dinner at Market Steer Steakhouse and couldn’t recommend it more! Jack was especially kind and brought me extra honey for my tea.I really appreciate all the great service that I experienced at this hotel! It’s a must visit when you’re in Santa Fe!

We came up to celebrate a friend’s birthday and intentionally chose a Heritage Hotel because of past experiences. We were greeted at valet and from that point on were taken care of extremely well- as always. After a night out, we returned to the warmth of the fire place and the staff made sure the fire was right and made sure we were comfortable. Sahana, the lead host supervisor, gave us great recommendations for lunch and breakfast and was great at checking in with us throughout our stay.Room was lovely, clean and roomy. Street noise was a little loud until around 2am, but we had a room on the street side and I doubt would bother anyone in rooms not on the street side.Hotel St. Francis is a wonderful hotel and perfect location for anyone wanting to be walking distance to the plaza.Nearby activities: Shopping, eating, music, galleriesWalkability: Steps away from some of the best restaurants and shooping on and around the plaza

For this time in Santa Fe we picked the Hotel St Francis. The location was perfect, just a block off of the main square, we had access to the action, with less noise. The hotel is a sophisticated SW Mission style. Broad front porch with ample seating. The interior is light stone, with a feature fireplace and baptismal font in the lobby. Lots of artwork in the building, statues, photographs, and more. They have a good steakhouse, Gruet Champaigne Bar and the Secteto Lounge, good for drinks and cocktails. The staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. The only drawback is that our room was a bit small, and the lighting was not enough at times. The sink is in the room, with the toilet and shower in a separate room.We had a great experience and would still recommend it, even with the slight room shortfalls.

My wife and I have been staying at the Hotel St. Francis for many years. We have loved the location and the history of the hotel. We often would book a room for a short getaway from our home in Taos, 1.5 hours away where we run a retreat center and know something about hospitality. On Friday 12/15/23 we booked such a night away. My wife has a thing against hotel carpet and we requested a room with wood floors, one of the features we have loved about the St. Francis. Unfortunately the hotel has really deteriorated since our last stay, it was bought some years ago by a conglomerate. The gleaming wood floors we were use to, in room 230, were in deplorable shape, literally no finish and black from wear. This was a room that badly needed carpeting to cover up their terrible condition. Room 230 was also blessed with a back alley view with a HVAC compressor and two commercial exhaust vents right outside our window which rumbled all night long. The room also smelled vaguely of dirty socks, which I later realized must have been a cleaning agent because the lobby also carried the smell. The cloth headboard on our king size bed had hair stuck to it from previous guests which was illuminated when my wife turned on her bedside light. The bathroom in this small room had a step up into it. At 67 years old, it was a trip hazard honestly. Upon checking out, the front desk agent who checked us out who was also the valet driver asked how our stay was. He was incredibly humble and kind, and when I told him how disappointed we were in the room, I though he was going to cry. He was the high point of the stay as he exuded kindness. If you are looking for a great location and don't care about your rooms condition stay here, but a once charming historic hotel has taken a terrible turn for the worst!

Really enjoyed my stay here. All of the employees were incredibly kind and helpful. Hot coffee was provided every morning which tasted great. We did check in during Last Friday which was a nightmare due to all the traffic downtown and the valet process (which is the only parking option) took ~40 minutes to get into the hotel. Hotel definitely should've planned for this and had a second or third valet working to help. We didn't have any other problems with the valet process for the rest of the weekend though. Hotel was also very clean with good dining and drink options.Walkability: In an excellent location with so many shops and restaurants nearby

I have usually stayed in The Inn of the Govenors but due to last minute changes I had to look for a new hotel. This hotel has a great location and the lobby is beautiful but the room was the smallest room I have ever stayed in, in a hotel! No vending machine or food or drink available, and AC did not work which made room very damp. Again great location and lobby, but the room itself was 1/5, and no complimentary breakfast like other hotels.

I had a wonderful 2 day stay at this hotel. Location was grest for restaurants and shopping. Rooms was a bit small, but loved the historic vibe.
