Always amazing and the people who work here are kind as well. My favorite restaurant in Santa Fe. I’m lucky to live just around the corner! They have gluten free and vegetarian options. I’m very allergic to gluten and I’ve never gotten sick from eating here.

If you are in Santa Fe got to eat here. Amazing food! I have traveled a lot and can say this is great east Africa cuisine influenced by a bit of Caribbean. Leann was our server and she was absolutely awesome— thanks Leann

Best meal we had during our visit to Santa Fe. And that includes some of the very fancy restaurants in the area. Truly wonderful and unique flavors in all the dishes we tried. Congrats to the chef and all the staff for running a great restaurant!

Tasty yum. Yum Mike. Mike happy.

In all seriousness, food was quite tasty. A number of items have a little bit of slow heat so if that's of concern, advise your server. Our group mostly ordered wraps and the like but we know the stewed goat is excellent, but you need to be patient with the bones. My friend thinks that the lemon fries are great and the cumin fries are tasteless and yet I thought exactly the opposite, so mix and match, and to each their own (most plates allow you to order both). Also enjoyed the ginger lemonade.

We enjoy Jambo at least once a month, sometimes more. This last meal was disappointing. We ordered his award winning soup as we always do. It seemed a little watered down. Our Mediterranean chicken kabobs were changed. The skewers were always made with usually moist breast meat. These were either thigh or leg meat with some cartilage and sinew. Probably to save on cost, but made some pieces inedible. There was also hardly any of the delicious distinctive chutney that makes the dish so special.
We are hoping it was a one off evening.

Délicieux! Im so picky about food but this was yummy and tasted authentic.
As an appetizer I had the cinnamon dusted plantains, a wonderful started that complimented my entire meal. The jerk chicken salad was phenomenal from the chilled roasted veggies to the homemade dressing.
For my entree, The oxtail melted in my mouth, while the collard greens and puff puff complimented its savory taste.
Lastly, for desert I had the flan and I’m not a flan person, but this one had me change my mind. Service was great I recommend going here.

Jambo Cafe was the perfect first stop on my very first visit to Santa Fe. Thank you, Chef Ahmed, for sharing your beautiful recipes and bringing the legacy of both your motherland and your mother so lovingly into this community. I had one of the best goat stews of my life here—full of depth, warmth, and care in every bite. I’m grateful for the experience and for the joy your food brings to so many.

Thank you, Chef Ahmed.

We bought take out order for me and an out-of-town guest. I just moved here and was told this place was #1. Well, it is if you are accustomed to rations. For a Jerk chicken specialty meal, I received 1 small chicken quarter and 1-3 clumped together mushy plantain and mushy beans and rice for $21. My guest ordered the Kenya kabobs specialty meal and received a few pieces of tiny, diced meat and 1-2 tiny potatoes bits. Our total meal was $65. The flavor was there but the lack of food quantity is not worth the trip. Will not go back again. We are originally from Jamaica and Cameroon.

Foodie wonderer

The diversity, quality, and flavors in this African-Caribbean restaurant are bar none. It is quickly becoming one of our favorite restaurants in town. The menu is extensive and we have yet to try anything we did not absolutely love. The servers seemed a little grumpy but it was a small price to pay; the service was still more than acceptable. We will definitely come back. Something to look out for is that the crowd tends to be a little older during lunchtime, so keep that in mind as the servers have to be a little more patient and perhaps take a little longer than they would otherwise.
