Although I usually avoid sushi unless it's within 50 miles or so of the coast I gave Joy's a shot since everyone gave it high marks. This was my first time there but I'll definitely return. It was mid-afternoon so I had the quiet dining room to myself. The yellowtail was fresh, tasty, and generously portioned, especially for $7. That and a bowl of miso soup filled me up nicely. I had to take my other roll home, along with another spicy yellowtail roll for the road.

Great quality for the price. They had a lot of variety and the staff was very friendly. They brought the rolls out as they were ready which was very nice. Some of the best tuna I've had this far from the coast.

Always bad ass food and friendly staff!
Best sushi in Santa Fe. Service, prices, food are amazing. That miso soup the best we’ve had our whole lives. Boyfriend and I tried it for the first time and he even forgave me for taking him to hayashi a year ago. Will be going back every chance I get.

Joy Sushi Bar, a small Asian restaurant, is conveniently located next to and connected with the Santa Fe Asian Market in the St. Michaels Village shopping center. Upon entering, I found the simple Asian-themed decor, with room dividers and hanging motifs, created a quaint and charming atmosphere, though the temperature inside was a bit warm.
I watched the cook prepare sushi behind the counter and decided to order the dancing tiger sushi roll. The presentation was artistic and impressive. While the rice was a bit mushy for my taste, the rest of the roll was excellent, with a perfect balance of spice and flavor that surpassed my expectations. I would rate this sushi as superior to many other Asian restaurants in Santa Fe, with only a few places offering comparable quality at a higher price point.
Given the high quality of the meal, I was pleasantly surprised by the very fair price. Joy Sushi Bar is an excellent choice for a quick and delicious meal at a great value.

Avoid this place. There was saran wrap IN my sushi roll. I ordered a California roll and a nevada roll. It's amateur night all around. Unagi was cold when I had asked questions prior to verify how it would be prepared. Paper plates and tiny plastic cups. No sushi case at bar. You have to order at the counter where you enter. They are connected to the market business next door.
