Food very delicious and all ingredients taste fresh. Sushi is prepared upfront and is very appetizing. The udon soup was plentiful with flavors and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice relaxed dinner this is the place to go. The service is very good kinda confusing when we wanted to pay.

Don’t ever tuna poke this the worst cut of tuna full of sinue enedible. Also they forgot the spring rolls. Allow an extra 15mins as they will not be ready in time.

Ate here tonight and were excited to order the Agedashi Tofu (our favorite) as the menu says it's vegetarian (There was a green V next to it on the menu). As we are both strict vegetarians, I had the waitress verify with the kitchen that there was no bonito (fish) in the sauce as 99.9% of agedashi tofu has it. She came back with the news that the agedashi tofu uses the same dipping sauce as the tempura and DOES HAVE fish in it!!!! WHY IS IT LISTED AS VEGETARIAN ON THE MENU?? That is lying to the customers who do not eat animals. PLEASE change your menu and be truthful by crossing out the green V next to the agedashi tofu immediately. OR make a separate vegan broth. I'm assuming all the vegetarians who are ordering vegetable tempura are dipping into your fish broth which is NOT OK. The four veggie sushi we ordered tonite were ok. The rice was cold which is not how it should be. I've been teaching Japanese cooking classes in Toronto Canada, Portland OR and Seattle WA for over 40 years and know very well how to make proper sushi. Cold rice is not the way to go.

Absolutely love this place! Very fresh fish, generous portions and the Chef always has specials and great suggestion! the Chefs menu on the back board is to die for, certainly recommend ordering from that but the menu has great options as well!

My fiancé and I walked in at 8:35 p.m. They close at 9:00 p.m. I could see the displeasure in the chef's face, but hoped I was mistaken. The server approached us and informed us that the chef said we could only order take out. It is ridiculous to turn away customers at 8:35 p.m. on a Saturday night.

We mostly order carryout or interaction with someone directly is whoever answers the phone and whoever hands the food to us. If I had an opinion of the ambiance, I'd say it's simple but clean. I really don't go eat inside for the ambiance - we go for the good food. The food IS very good and the fish is fresh 99.99% of the. The sushi and other entrees are well priced versus other Santa Fe sushi establishments.

This is easily one of my favorite sushi spots in Santa Fe. I love the sashimi plate and typically will order seaweed salad, miso soup, sashimi, and two sushi rolls. I have so far enjoyed everything that I have had here and will continue to recommend it to those who have never been!

High quality sushi and attentive service. Needed to wait for a bit because it was so busy, but that is a good sign.

Smelled very nice when we walked in which is always a great sign with sushi. The roll I had was very yummy and my boyfriend really liked his fried rice. The service was good even though the restaurant didn't have a single empty table.

Came here by recommendation from a friend. Staff just let me stand by the door like an idiot without ever bothering to acknowledge me. Decided to just walk out.

Kai Sushi is the best sushi restaurant in Santa Fe.Buddy’s rolls are fresh, creative and good value for the dining dollar. The staff level of service could be improved but the customer volume overwhelms them at peak times.
