Food was OK, but service was slow … at this price point, I expect more enthusiasm from staff and menu. Beef, tuna and salads were tired and uninspiring… 4 slices of mediocre crusty bread were served way too late to enjoy with the plates 🫤

We have been several times and always loved the food but finally tried the paella and it was the worst I’ve ever had. Soggy, no crispy crust whatsoever (that any authentic Spanish paella strives for), a weird assemblage of vegetables with way too many red peppers (it was easily by volume 70% peppers 20% other veggies and maybe 10% rice). Didn’t taste cohesive at all. Like the rice had been cooked in a pot as normal rice is and then just tossed with some veggies. We mentioned this to our waiter and got basically “yeah we just don’t have time to make it the traditional way.” I brought a friend from out of state specifically because she loves paella and she was also very disappointed.
Can highly recommend the steak, the eggplant, carrots, both salads, the saffron cherry soda, and the gateau basque.
But skip the paella.

This was a magnificent Valentines day restaurant. The food was excellent, the basque pintxos were divine with the blood sausage. The waiter was excellent and provided wonderful recommendations for a sherry flight. The seating was very romantic. Reservations were definitely a good choice.

Wonderful ambiance, amazing food, even better service and people. We had reservations for our anniversary dinner while in town, and the staff took amazing care of us (wish we got their names - but everyone was amazing!) Genuine people who love what they do and made our experience 10/10. Also, the flat iron steak and the bruschetta is a MUST try!
Will be coming back next time we are in town :) Thank you!

Last night we had dinner at La Boca, and I’m still thinking about it. Every single thing we ordered was phenomenal- beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with care but what truly made the night unforgettable was the staff.
From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed by everyone. There’s a warmth here that you can’t fake. José, in particular, was incredible: attentive without hovering, knowledgeable, and just an absolute joy. He made us feel like regulars, even though it was our first visit. And special mention to Socia and Tiffjo!
We’re only in town for three nights, and that says everything: we’re already going back for a second night. Not just for the food (which alone would be reason enough), but to soak up the atmosphere again and enjoy some live music.
La Boca isn’t just a great meal, it’s an experience. If you’re deciding where to spend your evening, this is the place.

The Kale salad, artichokes, mussels and paella to share were all amazing. And the raisin ice cream and sherry was out of this world! Sitting watching it snow during lunch was the icing on the cake. One of our favorite local restaurants never disappoints.🥰

I have several favorite restaurants in Santa Fe, and La Boca is definitely one of them! Thank you, Chef James Campbell Caruso, for the wonderful menu and the extra special care shown to me recently at lunch. Always a wonderful place to dine. The atmosphere and service are always the best. I will be back soon!
We ordered Jamon, Croquettes, Eggplant, and Potatoes Brava as tapas to share. It was all very tasty (as usual). I wish we had also ordered the prawns - but we had leftovers as it was.
I’ve never left a negative review of a restaurant in my life but I don’t want anyone else to have a dining experience like the one I just had at La Boca. The service was insulting. From waiting 10+ minutes before being greeted at the hostess stand, to waiting another 20 before seeing our server, and having to cancel our second round of food and drink after reminding two different servers multiple times and waiting 30+ minutes, to the subpar and extremely overpriced food I don’t think that this is a stop worth visiting in Santa Fe. Maybe there was a staffing issue? Either way we never got a single apology or explanation and I just expect more if I’m going to be paying this much for a meal.

Some of the worst service that we have ever had. The night started off with a hostess failing to even acknowledge the line of people waiting to be seated for 10 minutes; even those with a reservation. Once we finally got our table, it was another 20 minutes before we could even get a glass of water, let alone place a food or drink order.
We had a few courses, which were alright, but nothing to write home about. After waiting ages for our first round of drinks, we actually had to cancel our second round after another 30 minute wait. Throughout the entire meal, not a single apology or even acknowledge of the terrible service. We might’ve stuck around for a few more dishes, but at this point, we were just exhausted by the lack of care.
Unfortunately, I think restaurants such as these receive a lot of unearned hype and subsequently get an inflated ego. What made the awful service worse was the total disdain with which the staff treated its customers. I wouldn’t say we’re food snobs by any means, but I can’t think of a time that an experience has felt more insulting. Can’t recommend NOT going here enough.

Great Vibe! It was packed. Waitress was on point with good recs. We shared and salad and an entree and then each had desert. Non-pretentious. Some guest were smart casual some very casual but all seemed at home. La Boca is a must while visiting SF!
