Had an 8:30 reservation on Sat night & we were one of only two occupied tables in the whole place. It was very clean, the service was extra friendly, and they never made us feel rushed even though it was clear we were the only thing keeping them there. Our sope appetizer & cochinil entree were delicious. The grilled shrimp entree was okay but not memorable. Piña coladas are $16, even if you get them in a glass, so we got them in the pineapple and that was fun but probably not worth $32.

This is a great casual place for some Oxacan and New Mexican food. The shrimp ceviche and platanos were both excellent appetizers. The mole chicken enchiladas were yummy, as were the Oaxacan barbados and the chile en nogada. We tried 2 of the many choices of margarita flavors and found them both to be satisfying. Parking, of course, is a challenge downtown, but there's a garage nearby. All in all, while not a gourmet experience, this was satisfying food in an ok atmosphere. We recommend giving it a try!

We had a fun time at La Fogata. The staff is highly attentive and friendly, and we absolutely loved the mariachi band.

Wonderful Mexican restaurant, specializing in Oaxacan cuisine. They offered my 2 of my favorite dishes: enchiladas suizas, and relleno nogada, which you don't often find. All 4 of us ordered different dishes and everyone was happy. Excellent service and value. Highest priced entree is $25. Dessert flan was perfect too. Large cocktail and beer menu. Highly recommended. Location is one block from parking garage, and downstairs.

The food was excellent, the music was incredible, the beer was cold, and the prices are reasonable. There aren't many other places I could write that about. I'll be back!

Small underground Mexican food with great drinks and excellent food. Highly recommend the empenadas (quite large!). Friendly staff and short wait.

Our food was excellent NM cuisine. Blue corn stacked cheese enchiladas plate and taco plate didn't disappoint! Tacos were tasty with shrimp being my favorite (vs steak). The Christmas chile was perfect regarding heat - not too hot ... The live mariachi band was very good and a bonus- however the area is rather small so if you are hoping for an intimate setting don't count on it during times when the mariachi are playing!! Service was excellent - very attentive and helpful. M We will go back.

We waited over an hour for our appetizer with the excuse from the server that a large party had ordered before us. Dinner was also delayed. Our server spent most of us time flirting with fires at the bar. Food was not that great either after we waited so long. Will not return.

El servicio fue muy malo los meseros de mala cara nunca se acercaron a preguntar nada tenía que llamarlos yo, apresurados a tomarte la orden y arrebatándote los menús de las manos

We visited on Friday, May 23 and had reservations for 3 at 6:30 pm. We were seated promptly. The restuarant was not full and there were many empty tables. Although the food had a good flavor, the service was not great. The first issue was when making the tableside guacamole. Our server asked if we had any allergies to ingredients. Nobody at the table had allergies, but we forgot to mention to leave the onion on the side. This was our mistake. When we DID mention it, the server made a big deal about scooping it out (it wasn't mixed in, just sitting on top of the avacado). His over reaction made us feel embarassed. Secondly, after our order was put in, we waited at least 30 minutes to be served. Another server brought the food out. Even with the first bite, we could tell that the plates had been sitting out for a while - the food was lukewarm at most. Our original server did not serve the food, which was not a big deal. However, no one came by to check on us after serving the food to ask how we were doing. If they had, we would have mentioned the lukewarm temperature. By the time we finished our meal, the food was cold. Again, the flavors were good, but not great because of the lack of heat.

We just needed a little snack and ordered the table side guacamole (AMAZING) and shrimp ceviche (seriously the BEST we've ever had). The meals coming to other tables looked and smelled amazing, next time we are in Santa Fe it will be a must stop for more off the menu!

We had a lively evening, we love management staff at La Fogata, the food is over the top excellent, on this Sunday night the mariachi band was playing, and we and the rest of the patrons had a blast with several deciding to dance. Best of atmosphere and wonderful food can't be anything perfect and you'll find that at La Fogata.

A good choice for a very decent Mexican meal in Santa Fe. Good service especially on a busy Saturday evening. Would recommend.

The food was soooo delicious and fresh. Highly recommend. Vegetarians can be very satisfied by ordering a variety of appetizers.
