Had high hopes for this restaurant, but it fell well short. The Chilean seabass was fried but somehow not well crusted nor seasoned, and the brussel sprouts were unseasoned too. The green chile risotto was well done though. My wife's scallop dish was very disappointing. The scallops were done well, but the rice was supposed to have mascarpone red chili sauce with watermelon beurre blanc, none of which seemed to make it on the plate. Her carrots and asparagus appeared to be steamed, with no seasoning added. Honestly, a poor effort for a $60 per plate. To cut to the chase, the service is average, the ambiance is very nice, and the food falls short.

The food and service were amazing. A little tight for table spacing. Started with the torilla soup. Very light but fresh. Then the goat cheese strawberry salad with walnuts. Great dish - large. Perfect to split. Filet and enchiladas were the main. Filet went to medium not medium rare. Enchiladas were light not too much spice. Pozole was amazing in it. Beans - normal perfect needed a little salt. Flan was light creamy and fresh berries and cinnamon. Outstanding.

The setting is 80% of the experience. Get the guacamole prepared table side and enjoy the show while getting your choice of mix ins. My prime rib was tasty but tougher than most.

Truly a Santa Fe classic. Prefer breakfast and lunch over dinner yet all is tasty. Love the atmosphere and the energy

We had an amazingly dinner last night. Wonderful table by the fountain. Burrata and grapes were delicious. Grilled Tiger Prawns were amazing. Great food and great experience. I highly recommend.

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere! So glad we booked. Table side guacamole was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, and the entrées were excellent as well particularly the scallops.

The server and setting were wonderful! The food….not so much. It's basically glorified cafeteria food. Nothing special. Anything good was negated when I found a short black hair in my salad. My hair is blonde. Yikes!

Really nice ambience. If you have a meal during day time, the light from the top is great. The walls are stained glass done by local artist Ernesto Martinez. The food is expensive, but quite flavorful and is very well presented. Make a reservation as it fires get busy. They have an extensive wine list. The service is quick and efficient. If you want to splurge, this is a nice option in Santa Fe.Dietary restrictions: Limited choices if you are a vegetarian but they will customizeParking: Hotel’s parking garageKid-friendliness: Kids menu available

La Plazuela at La Fonda offers a vibrant dinner scene. The sea bass, recommended by our server, was outstanding, as was my husband's prime rib. The tableside guacamole was irresistible and delicious.

Everyone knows hotel restaurants suck. They're maximum dollar for minimum quality. But we made the mistake of trying this place anyway as we're staying at La Fonda."Charred grapes" had no char, so they were just "hot grapes"Chicken was soggy, skin was not rendered properly so it was chewy, breading was utterly soggy. The molé was very "white boomer" oriented as it was wholly inoffensive and had no actual flavor.Lobster Mac sat under a heat lamp for God knows how long, lobster was chewy, noodles were dry, sauce was grainy & runny.Server was curt, but focused on flipping tables and not our experience. He didn't do a table touch or even see how the food was, so we were only able to bring up the food issues when he brought the dessert menu.Manager came over as if surprised that their food sucked, as one does. They DID comp our entrees, but HOT DAMN this place sucks.IF YOU ARE UNDER 45 WITH A PULSE: skip this tourist trap like your life depends on it; go to radish and rye or better yet, Sazon- just a couple blocks down the street. To La Plazuela: I get that the boomers tell you it's "good" after their long day golfing or buying property or whatever it is old people do, but TIGHTEN UP. YOU'VE GOTTEN SOFT. You're not striving for the quality I can only assume you ONCE HAD. Think LONG & HARD: Are you still proud of your product, or has the money made you numb to what is so clearly languishing on the plates before you?

No vegetarian options other than removing the most expensive part of the dish but they still charge the same price.

Try the chile rellenos ?️, Christmas style. Absolutely delicious, and big enough to share.

My family and I are visiting Santa Fe for the first time and the restaurant at the La Fonda was recommended to us. We loved everything we had. We had the tableside guac, chile rellenos and enchiladas. My husband was born and raised in southern New Mexico and even he thought the chile in the sauces was amazing. I would go here over and over again. We had excellent service and will definitely be back!Thank you for everything! ❤️
