Interesting concept with cafe and store in one. Wide selection of books and gifty stuff plus gardening stuff. Not the best place for coffee, but the coconut pancakes were really yummy I went back from them before leaving town. Loved their selection of books.

We were vacationing in New Mexico. We stopped here for breakfast.Overall, the service, food quality, atmosphere, and unique menu items were A+! My wife is also a very crafty person herself so she liked the ‘general store’ vibe / decor with the store also being a restaurant. The menu is very creative with things you cannot get elsewhere. For example, the açaí pancakes were truly unique. Great flavor.Would definitely stop here again. If you’re in Santa Fe looking for breakfast options that are unique check this place out.

Arrived at 3pm. It’s stated that they close at 4, only to be barked at that the kitchen was closed.

Delicious and unusual choices of food. Highly recommend the corn cakes. We went twice on our 4 day trip to Santa Fe.

A beautiful spot to grab coffee, breakfast, or a smoothie! Everything is delicious but would definitely recommend the pho sole!

Food was amazing. Ambience was on point customer service was nonexistent no hello, no smiles,no thank you. Customer service creates a warmth which makes customers want to keep coming back. Unfortunately, we won’t be dining in again because of reason but will stop in for take out. Reason we’re giving five stars is for food and the design of the space.

Great place for a healthy breakfast, and if you’re gluten free the Açaí Teff pancake's are delicious. Very small, so might be a wait for a table, but worth it. Fresh & funky atmosphere.

Ok, i've been coming here for years -- over e as Christmas usually but other times as well. I just had two visits in the last two days and it feels like you guys are slightly off your game. The food is good, but slightly lacking. I miss the cold sherbet with the teff cakes. The help seems a little bit clueless and not totally focused. I realize it's not quite holiday and it's an in between time but I hope things get back to 5000%. I always recommend to friends traveling to Santa Fe.***also just stopped again (the 3rd visit in 2days) and Chai Lattes to-go were lukewarm. I asked if there was a way to hear them and was told no.

This is a good restaurant if you like taking pictures of your food rather than eating it. We asked the woman at the counter multiple times what was vegan. She said she didn't know. Then she suggested a broth dish that was based on bone broth. We finally settled on two items she assured us were vegan. When the food came 20 minutes later the server told us none of the items were vegan. We then had to start over with ordering again. The staff is unknowledgeable and uncaring. This is a place that wants to sell you books about mushrooms and worm composting businesses but doesn't even know what ingredients are in the food they sell. Don't come.

My wife and I really enjoyed our breakfast here. Great local vibe with healthy and health-ish breakfast options. We shared the hatch chili scramble and breakfast biscuit. Both fantastic and generous servings. We wish we had room to order the savory cakes! They looked amazing! Will definitely be returning when we are back in town.

My daughter and I enjoyed a great little trip to Santa Fe on a beautiful fall extended weekend. One morning we enjoyed brunch at Modern General. We were staying at the El Rey Court, and Modern General was on the same street and also close. My daughter ordered the Lemon Cakes and loved them! They were tart, light and fluffy. The Lemon Cakes were layered with lemon curd and smothered with a blueberry compote, and then drizzled with their signature buttercream. Oh my! Very yummy!I ordered their "Best BLT". It was classic and excellent, with juicy fresh tomatoes, crisp romaine lettuce, thick bacon, and served on sourdough bread. It was a quiet and cute place. The tables were situated among a simple shop. The food was very good. If you visit Santa Fe, be sure to stop at Modern General for a healthy and tasty brunch!

I was excited to check this location out since the Albuquerque location is no longer open.A note for anyone driving here: the parking lot is in a terrible state of disrepair, with numerous large potholes. Go slowly.A further note: While the interior is aesthetically pleasing, the chairs are not in great condition, and actually ripped my partner's skirt when she sat down. Be careful. The seating is poorly thought out, with numerous tables for two, but just a single table for groups above that number to share. These caveats aside food itself is generally quite good, and worth a stop despite the above issues if you're looking for brunch. I particularly recommend the coconut macaroon, and pho-sole. Head straight back in and order at the counter.

We were lucky enough to find a table for 5 on a Saturday morning. This place is very cute! While waiting for my food, I walked around and tried really hard not to shop. There are lots of cute curated items in all varieties. The food is very delicious. The blends of flavours are unique but really tasty. The only reason why it's not a 5/5 is because I thought it was pretty overpriced for how much food you got.

Takeaway latte was very nice. Eat-in lime-avocado chia pudding bowl was divine and beautifully presented. Takeaway BLT large and tasty. I wish I'd discovered this place on our first day in Santa Fe, not our last.Open and airy with items other than food for sale.Vegetarian options: Lots to choose from.

The cashier asking, "What's a quad?" was unfortunately not the first red flag. As their only customer, it took 10+ mins to warm a Danish. Meanwhile, my hot espresso beverage sat behind the counter getting...unhot. The Danish was delicious, even though I requested apricot and received lemon. A definite lack of attention in many regards here. Note: No outdoor seating.
