Piazza Café may sound like a typical café, but stepping inside reveals a charming family-owned trattoria with authentic Italian roots. Nice restaurant, but still needs a little work. Service was very friendly, but everything was very slow, including simply getting ice water upon seating to wash down the fun/salty grissini sticks. Food was just ok. Caesar salad must have been sitting in the hot kitchen because the lettuce was warm and wilted; yuck. Funghi pizza was crispy and burnt on the edges but had only four or five mushrooms. Granted, I wasn't expecting a supreme pizza, and the menu even states that...
Second time dining here and can’t wait to come back! The quality is so fresh and authentic, and it is truly amazing food especially for the price. This is upscale Italian in a cozy and relaxed setting - so much better than many fine dining restaurants on the plaza and without the stuffiness and high price tag. I came here for my birthday with my infant son, and everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Looking forward to trying the happy hour soon!
