Lackluster food, lackluster service, top dollar prices. There are a tons of better options to eat at, especially at the price point they want for their bland, uninspired dishes.

After eating dinner, which was very good(the Burrito), they brought out 2 Bischiquitos as a complimentary meal ender. They were so good I bought 2 boxes which were $8.50 each. On the box it says each serving is 4 pieces and that there were 6 servings in each box. Problem was that there were only 18 in the first box and 20 in the second-not the 24 I was expecting-hence the 2 star rating. Deceptive practice going on

Love on a plate! Whether you are Team Green, Red or Christmas, you should definitely be on Team La Plaza! Skip the overhyped places downtown to find this Southside gem with loads of easy, free parking - you won't be sorry! The wide menu presents an impossible choice between the stuffed sopaipilla, frito pie, blue corn pancakes or Santa Fe green goddess salad or crispy avocado tacos. Don't miss the Ness Farm beans or the prickly pear lemonade. We always hope to be seated in Antonio's section, but all the staff are top notch. This team take care of guests and each other, giving the atmosphere a genuinely warm, family feel. This spot is a regular for us that always feels special.

INSANELY overpriced for terrible service, bad drinks, and boring food.

Waited forever to be seated, in an empty restaurant.
Then waited forever again for the server to take our order.
My daughters vanilla milkshake was salty.... Like actually salty.
The espresso martinis were awful.
The food is subpar at best. No seasoning. No plating, the guac was $12 and given in a metal sauce dish just thrown on the table. Lazily thrown together sandwiches, unseasoned fries and chips.
I give this place another chance like once a year and it just gets worse and worse.

We were here from Texas for Valentine's weekend and ate a late meal at the Plaza Cafe Southside and WOW was it worth the wait. When we got there we had to wait probably less than 10 minutes but once seated we had the most awesome waiter named Jose or JJ and let me tell you he was the best and gave us his undivided attention. He knew how to work the tip and food was the best we ever had especially with the beans and Mexican rice. Then came the dessert which was apple Carmel pie with ice cream. The best! Thank you for a great dining experience

My friend had a traditional breakfast with pancake and I had Mexican Shakshuka. I was not a fan of the chipotle sauce but I had a choice. Next time I'll get something else

Lovely venue and the food was absolutely delicious! The Fish and Chips were scrumptious. I am curious as to why customers must ALL be seated right on top of one another when there are enough available spaces for customers to be seated apart. Especially if there are crying, loud and whining children within arms length of you. Luckily we were waiting for our cheque but that would have definitely changed my experience into a negative one.

I hate to report about any company, but I must say that this is the second time I have purchased a Keylime pie from Plaza Café and the first time it tasted like Parmesan cheese. It was disgusting and I returned Most of the pie that my guests had Tasted said it was a bad tasting pie.
This is the second time I had to report that this Keylime pie I purchased on Christmas Eve 2025 did not even last two days, Before being spoiled. I was actually sick from even tasting about a tablespoon of it the 3rd evening and developed horrible stomach pains all night long and until at least 1 o’clock Today. Holy
I recommend that Plaza Café put a date on their pies when people are purchasing them because I expected it to last at least four days after paying For the pie and tip that went to60 bucks. That is a lot of money to spend on a pie and it not even last three days. I’m very disappointed. I love Plaza Café but this is the second time this is happened to me.

I have the worse experience ever Saturday and Sunday we went for breakfast and you had a lot of tables open your restaurant is a fast pace restaurant.
Retrain your Hostess They clearly spend more time playing on the their phone instead of finding out what’s open to seat guest.
Bring your hostess from downtown they do work and know the job
