I normally don't complain about services, but this young man had a horrible attitude. I got a coffee, he filled it maybe just a little over half and for $5. He also had an issue with me paying with cash.

Super duper spot! How lovely it is to see people of such different life paths and histories coming together and really getting to know each other. Interesting deals each to to check out, art night on Mondays, open mic on Tuesdays, and various events over each month keep things fresh & funky.
Go check it out!

They were co welcoming and though I was from out of town, they treated me as part of their community. The kava was wonderful and strong. If you are passing through town I definitely recommend swinging by!

Love the people and vibe of Kava bar! Great experience, chill atmosphere, great drinks. Only suggestion is to get at least 2 people (or more) covering happy hour, we had 1 guy trying to serve over 50 people.
The drinks are Not as classy as at other Kava establishments, despite coming with a similar price tag. More competition would leave me to be less empathetic, Having a non drunken third place to socialize at as well as receive medicine like kava and the so called ethnobotanical tea, is Absolutely crucial for the health of our Communities. Many thanks to the owners and employees here

This is a night life oasis in a desert of failing bars and cliche bourgeois Santa Fe bar/restaurants. I stumbled upon this place for a late night study session, and found both the tea tenders and the patrons to be authentic, enjoyable and chill. I had some of the most enriching conversations with the regulars, and really got there was a sense of community in this place. The atmosphere is comfortable with big leather chairs, a large bar, and it felt like a safe place to be for all. Great place to meet friends, get some work done, and they even have a performance space. I'll definitely be back.

Bar tenders will steal your stuff and act like its your fault. Been an increasing regular for the past few months, until I left my hat one night and it was subsequently taken by an employee with no intention of returning it. As soon as I realized I had forgotten something, I called and was assured they had it and would hold it until I returned to get it. By the time I made it back a few days later, i was informed by a bartender that another employee had decided to take it home and keep it. When I raised concern over the fact I was assured it would be kept for me, I was told it was “just a bummer” as the bartender waked away dismissively. I tried to ask two other employees about it, both of which told me basically the same thing, one even saying they knew who had it but would not tell me. Absolutely absurd, unprofessional and scummy behavior from a community I was just beginning to feel at home with. Frustrating, disappointing and just plain mean honestly. Would not recommend unless you enjoy having personal items stolen from you by the people working.

They kicked out my friend for something they didn't do. Really toxic environment. A lot of peer pressure and no communication. Totally could be a safe space if the people there wanted it to be. Don't @ me bc I know you further got my other friend in trouble for saying something. You don't know who I am. I didn't come more than twice but that's ALL I needed to see. It's not slander if it's true so just get it together instead of threatening people for REAL reviews ?. You may have bullied my friend into staying quiet but you won't bully me, do better. Kava deserves more respect as a drink, be careful how you treat it and it hopefully won't treat you poorly. Kava as a bar could have more respect if the people there were more respectful, but aside from that it's got great potential to be a great spot. A lot of the regulars talk about how unreasonable some other regulars and workers are. I could go into detail but from what I've heard I'm putting myself in enough "danger" even leaving this review but I'm a real one so they'll just have to deal. We all want CHILL safe spaces, not scheming back and forth.

Was met with rude stares from staff after entering (12:15 pm on a Saturday), to be told to “come back in 10 minutes”. Weird, but okay. Returned after 30 and the bar was suddenly closed. Don’t bother.

Wish I had the opportunity to say something nice about this place. We came to santa fe specifically to try this place while visiting and they were not open during their hours. The staff was having a meeting with the doors wide open and were very rude of informing us that their staff meeting was running late. We came back 15 minutes later to see they still weren't open. Hopefully next time we are here we can experience it and update my review.
