I was lucky enough to hear about this place from a store owner in the town of Madrid, NM. The restaurants there where I had planned to eat didn't open till noon and the crowds and tour buses were annoying with traffic and parking. When the store owner recommended the San Marcos Cafe, I went there instead and WHAT A JOY. Amazing food - I had the green chile stew - the cup and it was huge and made a full meal - and it came with a side of tortillas and some guacamole. Truly delicious, quiet atmosphere, and great service. Highly recommend and I'm so glad someone helped me find this place!

I told my wife that breakfast was going to be at a feed store. She was skeptical to say the least. Then we walked in the door and she was blown away by the charm. And then we were blown away by our breakfast. Absolutely worth the stop if you're in Santa Fe. Oh, the empty plate? What's left of my Benedict.

The green chili is hot and very good. You have been warned.

Consistently excellent. Loved the Cinnamon rolls, the sausage gravy, some of the best cheese blintzes. Ate there thrice in one week.

An absolute treasure. The ambiance is delightful. The food delicious. I highly recommend The Stack for breakfast. I opened it so you see the mouthwatering makings.

Food was delicious and service was excellent. They have a limited menu, mostly breakfast items that you can get anytime. We had their famous cinnamon roll, huevos rancheros, and French toast. They atmosphere was fun and felt like we were eating in an old west Santa Fe pueblo.

Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere. Something I would love to acquire if it was ever for sale in the future. We own a restaurant in Magdalena with a similar living room, southwest, cowboy vibe. Love the interior and art. The chicken coop and feed store added a nice ambiance as well. There was live music. Food came out quickly. We had some cinnamon rolls to share for the table, which are a must order. I also got the chile relleno omelette. Delicious.

Finally, we were in the area when the Cafe was open. The food was okay. To start, my Hubby & I shared the sweet roll (more like a sugared croissant - nothing special). We then ordered egg plates. You don't have a choice of bread for the toast & the eggs & fried potatoes didn't knock our socks off. The one (& only) waitress must have been having a bad day as the whole mood of this former house-turned-cafe was somber. I did, however, purchase Chile Pepper cocktail napkins from their small retail inventory.

This place has a very homey feel to it. You get the feeling that someone’s mom is cooking away in the kitchen. Food was really good. Service was amazing as the place is small but they were to accommodate 16 people as walk-ins and the service was great.

Everything is good. I suggest eating the world's best cinnamon roll first so you don't miss it!
