A bucolic agri-experience and/or dining at Aunt Bee's. Either way, San Marcos is comforting, delicious and delightful.
Down to earth yummy food with a country atmosphere NM style! The desert special was a bourbon apple pie that nearly made me weep, it was so good served warm with vanilla ice cream. 👍

WHAT A TREAT!!!! We’re passing through and our RV park alerted us to this find a bit off the map. Very friendly and cozy environment. Outside is really rustic and beautiful. Service was outstanding. Great menu. We had the “breakfast enchiladas” with fajita chicken and a fried egg on top. Tasted wonderful. Fresh and hot. Should have visited the feed store but on a schedule.

Ordered Huevos Rancheros, one of my favorite dishes. They serve this with blue corn tortillas that tasted great. Their chile is very good to excellent. Since I order Christmas, i.e., both red and green chile. Both have great chile flavor without being overpowered by other ingredients. Portion size is very good, filling but not over the top. Price is comparable to other local restaurants for such a dish.

Very cozy local cafe for breakfast and lunch. Friendly and attentive service. Great New Mexico style enchiladas and burritos, lots of breakfast fare. Yummy bourbon apple pie with vanilla ice cream. And peacocks, chickens, a duck and turkeys in the side yard.

Truly a local roadside treasure. Choices are egg and breakfast oriented with a New Mex slant. There is the menu, and Daily specials and the deserts. With a rustic kitchen atmosphere. (Check out the old cookstoves in the corners)
Quick service, generally a locals place. Servings are just right.
For a treat, be sure to get a cinnamon roll either to go, share, or be overwhelmed. They are not small.

I was lucky enough to hear about this place from a store owner in the town of Madrid, NM. The restaurants there where I had planned to eat didn't open till noon and the crowds and tour buses were annoying with traffic and parking. When the store owner recommended the San Marcos Cafe, I went there instead and WHAT A JOY. Amazing food - I had the green chile stew - the cup and it was huge and made a full meal - and it came with a side of tortillas and some guacamole. Truly delicious, quiet atmosphere, and great service. Highly recommend and I'm so glad someone helped me find this place!

I told my wife that breakfast was going to be at a feed store. She was skeptical to say the least. Then we walked in the door and she was blown away by the charm. And then we were blown away by our breakfast. Absolutely worth the stop if you're in Santa Fe. Oh, the empty plate? What's left of my Benedict.

Good food and delicious cinnamon roll. Great service in a rustic setting cafe.
Enjoy
The green chili is hot and very good. You have been warned.

Consistently excellent. Loved the Cinnamon rolls, the sausage gravy, some of the best cheese blintzes. Ate there thrice in one week.
Local feed store and Cafe.
Cafe service M-F 8-2.
Very nice helpful staff.
Cute, unique cafe! Best cinnamon roll!
Highly recommend stopping in for a small bite.
We've been to San Marcos Cafe for breakfast. This time for lunch. My wife and I always test the quality of enchiladas by ordering red chile cheese enchiladas. We did so today. We began with chips and salsa. Good. Then we shared the enchiladas. They were great. We've eaten enchiladas a lot of places in Northern New Mexico. And these were some of the best we've had. Good job San Marcos. The setting is equal to the food. The Cafe is in an old adobe home with several rooms and tables scattered around. The server was both attentive and engaging. The downside? They're only open weekdays. We'll be back.
Best Chili Verdi I've ever tasted!
Off the highway a bit but worth the extra couple of miles!!!
