The sky is the limit for trying new coffeehouses!
While exploring Santa Fe, Cassey said there are a ton of coffeehouses to pick from. She said there was this little one next to the train station that has a UFO next to it that she thinks I would like seeing, so we headed that way!
Sky Coffee is situated close to the Santa Fe Railyard and is a quaint little coffeehouse. Cassey and I popped in after walking around downtown after eating at Cowgirl BBQ. Having a full belly meant I needed fuel for the continued exploring we were planning to do.
The barista behind the counter was very nice and apologized for trying to take a call from her doctor while making us coffee. That didn’t bother me having worked in customer service for 15+ years and her sense of urgency on the phone with the doctor made it seem pretty serious. More important than getting my americano right away.
After apologizing profusely and making our drinks, we headed out and kept exploring the town. The americano was pretty good, if not a bit smaller than I expected but for the price ($3.75), it was a steal. I would’ve gladly paid more for a bigger serving though. Right after we left, Cassey had to take a work call so I used that time to take a lot of photos of the UFO, which you can see one of them below.
If you need a small and quiet coffeehouse before riding the trains, Sky Coffee could be the place for you. Do keep in mind the interior doesn’t have the most seating so if your party is more than 2, seating may be a struggle. Also, they have stickers for $2/each if you are a sticker fanatic like me. One last note, they are a cashless business so keep that in mind if you decide to pop in.

Needs improvement in customer service
Absolutely no personality or ambience. The staff makes you feel like you’re annoying them by being a customer.

The location is nice at the Railyard. It's a cute coffee place with some seating inside & an outdoors patio. The banana bread was good & so was the mocha cappuccino ☕
Parking: Paid parking $2 an hour.

Good selection of specialty coffee drinks. Had the Iced Lavender Matcha (Lavendar Elixir). Creamy, nice flavours, but expensive. This location is often busy so be prepared for a wait time of 15+ minutes.

Walked in, and it was clear they knew what they were doing. After ordering, it took less than 3 minutes for my order to be ready (important note: they do not accept cash, but they do accept mobile pay apps). After you get your drink, you can adjust the sweetness at the coffee bar, which only carries cane sugar, plain sugar, and simple syrup. The coffee itself is very good and isn't extremely dark, I would recommend it to anyone wanting a quick drink.

Good coffee, fast service and a fun name story. They should get lids that fit the iced coffee cups better though.

Lovely spot near the Railyard, conveniently close to the farmers market during the weekend. Outdoor seating and nice local art inside. We had espresso and matcha and both were excellent. Matcha was nicely dark (see pic) and unsweetened. I had to espresso too fast to take a pic - would definitely go back any time!

[UPDATE 2024] Sky's back! They have been open again and are once again a great, centrally located spot for high quality coffee and pastries, and getting some work done.

Good coffee but they are a victim of their own success during the Saturday market. There were about 25 people in line/waiting when I joined the queue and absolutely nowhere to stand or sit while I was waiting for my coffee, without being in the way. I recommend the owner comes up with some creative solutions for Saturday service, perhaps another staff member who can help bring drinks outside to customers, perhaps a price incentive to encourage customers to order easier to make regular coffees or iced coffees on Saturday, anything to help move the line along and free up space inside.
