The Starbucks on Cities of Gold Rd in Santa Fe offers a familiar experience with a few key conveniences like a drive-thru, which is a plus for those on the go. The drinks are up to the usual Starbucks standard, with popular choices like vanilla lattes and seasonal favorites, but service can be inconsistent. The drive-thru wait can sometimes stretch up to 30 minutes, which can be frustrating, especially during peak hours.

The baristas are generally friendly, but it seems that training levels vary, which can impact the speed and accuracy of orders. If you have the time, dining in is an option, although the dining room is fairly small and can feel cramped during busy periods.

For those paying in cash, it's worth noting that the payment process at the drive-thru window can take longer, so having a mobile app or card ready may speed things up. While it’s convenient for a quick coffee stop, this Starbucks location may not offer the smoothest experience for those in a rush. Overall, it delivers on the classic Starbucks offerings but could benefit from improvements in efficiency and consistency.

Vegetarian options: As with most Starbucks, vegetarian-friendly choices include a selection of pastries, sandwiches, and snacks. While options are somewhat limited, they include reliable staples like egg bites and bagels, which pair well with their coffee.

Dietary restrictions: Starbucks is accommodating to dietary restrictions, offering non-dairy milk options such as almond, soy, and oat milk for their drinks. The baristas are familiar with modifications, so specific requests for gluten-free or dairy-free choices are generally well managed.

Parking: The location has a parking area, but it can get crowded, particularly during peak morning hours. The drive-thru lane can add to the congestion, so arriving early or using the mobile order feature might be helpful for a quicker experience.

Kid-friendliness: This Starbucks location is suitable for families, with kid-friendly drinks like hot chocolate and a range of snacks that appeal to younger customers. The casual environment and easy access make it a good stop for families on the road.

Wheelchair accessibility: The Starbucks is wheelchair accessible, with designated parking spots and a ramp leading to the entrance. The staff is attentive to accessibility needs, and the setup allows for comfortable navigation both indoors and at the drive-thru window.

This is embarrassing for a Starbucks. Lobby closed, long slow drive thru. Just not worth it. Go to McDs and get a cheaper coffee faster.

What is going on, where is my drink. Waited 20 minutes for an empty drink. Come on do better! Need better baristas. The lobby is always closed or they’re out of certain menu items plus it takes FOREVER to get one drink. Also don’t put chains in small towns like this because they can’t staff them.

I had excellent- patient and friendly- service today and yesterday in the drive-thru. My drink is a little complicated (sccb,no vanilla, light ice, cf on side, extra cf.) I really appreciate the caring service and deliciously made drinks. Thanks!

Today, coming from Santa Fe enroute to pickup my grandkids at Arroyo Seco bus stop, I placed a mobile order for a drink at Pojoaque Starbucks. Like the majority of reviews, on several occasions, I experienced the lobby closed causing drive thru backup & long wait times; I’ve sworn not to return! Today, I wanted to be positive & thought maybe after all these months; they’ve worked out the quirks. I was so wrong, the lobby was closed, & the drive thru was backed up again. I was the 5th car in line and 2 cars behind me. The car at the window was waiting for 15 mins. I worried if that’s the time it took to serve each car ahead of me, I was going to be late to pickup grandkids and worried what they’d do if I wasn’t there. I was stressed & trapped between cars, so I got out of my car, walked to the window and told the girl at the window about my worry. She said, they were doing their best and I didn’t have to get out of my car. I did barely make it to pickup grandkids; however, this incident made up my mind, I’m never going back to this Starbucks.
This is for you-Starbucks Owner, you keep thanking people for their reviews good & mostly bad, but why don’t you tell us, how are you going to remedy these issues before you lose all your customers? I’ve had excellent & fast drive thru & restaurant service from area businesses: MacDonalds, Taco Bell, Blakes, & Pizza 9, so what’s the difference & why is there such a continual drag at Pojoaque Starbucks? Your customers deserve better serve!!!

This is a beautiful location!! The cafe is modern and nice and the views are spectacular. While it can be frustrating to have the inconsistent operating hours, I am thankful for the staff that shows up. I know that they have been working hard despite their staffing issues. They are still friendly and positive and work to craft delicious drinks inspite of the hardships they are facing. For the people leaving one star reviews due to their lack of staffing and inconsistent hours, I wonder if you’ve ever worked a retail or food service job. I also wonder if you’ve ever been in a situation where you’ve been undersaffed, overwhelmed and under appreciated. I know first hand, that many of the staff have left due to rude and entitled customers, so to the next person about to leave a one star review, think about the hardships this staff is facing and how the ones that are there are the ones still showing up and trying to make it work so you can get your precious $7 latte.

Closed at 9am. Never heard of a Starbucks opening so late, this is crazy. Prob won't ever come back cause you never know if it will be open & it's a 20 min drive either way till the next one.

I have tried to come several times and each time have watched multiple cars drive away because the inside is not open and the drive thru line is way too long. Unfortunately , I don’t have the time , energy or patience to continue trying.

When you're the only customer it's fine, but add about 5 minutes of wait time for EACH car in the drive through.

Went in yesterday 8/6/2024 5:15 pm pulled up on drive thru a worker was in the back of building out side on the phone for like 10 minutes with a line full of cars in drive thru , we were finally next in line when she comes out let us no their closing early after waiting for over 20 minutes all together I felt like if she hadn’t been wasting time on the cell phone out side we could of all had our drinks instead she came out to say there closing early so ya that’s as a huge waste of time

When I saw the other reviews, I wondered how a Starbucks could possibly only have a 2.5 rating. However, after visiting this place, it became obvious quickly. In the middle of the day, all of the doors were locked. We called the number to find out why and learned that they were training some folks so they couldn't open the inside? We recommended putting up a sign so the dozens of people walking up to the front confused would know why all of the doors were locked. They told us they were too busy training to make a sign. But were fine watching a stream of people try opening up all of the doors? Pretty nuts.

With the drive-thru being the only option, you then get to speak with folks who don't know how to make a coffee yet.

Corporate Starbucks should take a look at this place, it really doesn't support the brand.

This Starbucks has a beautiful view on the mountains! The restroom is pretty advanced with sinks which provide soap, water and air in one faucet.

I had a small issue with my free refill, where they wanted me to charge full price. As a gold card member I have the right on a free refill. I wanted an iced tea, but they told me I could only get an ice coffee. I told them I have emails from corporate and telling the rules are different.

The manager refunded my money, but it's annoying to get your right.
