As semi-frequent customers who live locally (go to the Pony Room a few times a year), we went to celebrate a birthday that was acknowledged by the hostess, bus boy & waitress. It seemed as if a half dozen patrons were also there to celebrate. EVERYONE else was presented with a sparkling birthday treat... we were not. Even brought it up after we were served our dessert, but still no sparkling treat. Over $500 for a meal is significant for a party of 4 (2 kids, 2 adults), but we were treated like invisible and unwanted patrons. Message received.

Very comfortable restaurant with impeccable service and delicious food! I love the prime rib and the Cobb salad and Brussel sprouts was a nice compliment!

Shortly after being seated, water and warm nuts were brought to our table (don't skip the nuts). We started our meal by splitting a wedge salad. Thank goodness we split it — too much for one person. My wife got the burger and our server (and the kitchen) handled the special requests perfectly. The burger was excellent. I debated between the prime rib and the NY Steak — went with the NY on the recommendation of our server, and it was an excellent choice. Cooked to perfection. We ordered the apple cobbler to go, and it was fantastic! From start to finish, it was a great experience! More frequent visits are in the cards.

The Pony Room for breakfast is the greatest treat. Traditional breakfast food, cooked to order and exactly how you like it, great coffee, outstanding service, plenty of time to linger. It's the best.

I can't say enough good things about The Pony Room! I took my friend who was visiting from out of state for a special reunion dinner and the service, ambiance, and food made it an absolutely perfect evening. The service we received was unmatched by any dining experience I've had in as long as I can remember. Our waiter was incredibly insightful, kind, humorous, and truly an expert at service (and we can be tough critics!). I put in the reservation notes that it was a special occasion, and our amazing waiter gave us a wonderful desert to celebrate which I was not expecting whatsoever! Every detail of the entire evening was above and beyond. The dinner portions and quality of food blew us away! And there was live music even on a Wednesday evening. Truly a fabulous time. I hope you visit and have the same experience we did! Thank you thank you thank you!

This was one of those special occasion celebrations, and the pony room just made it extra special. It was a beautiful day we were sitting outside on the terrace. The server was polite and professional, the ambience was perfect, and the food was delicious. Along with good friends to complete the ambience.

two dining choices--an often lively bar and a sedate restaurant that offer the same menu. service is uniformly gracious and timely. our waiter Coral was attentive and helpful with special requests. do not miss the lamb chops, shrimp cocktail, baked cookie sundae (worth every calorie), mexican entrees. excellent lighting that creates a beautiful ambience in the 2 rooms--patio can be overlit for an intimate dining experience.

I am a Santa Fe local and had an amazing experience at the compound with my nine-year-old son. The food was amazing! We got lobster cake, squash risotto, Lamb shank, and the crème brûlée. Every single thing exceeded our expectations. The service was friendly and warm, especially considering the fact that I had a child with me. My son is a foodie and couldn't stop raving about the food. We will definitely be back soon.

The Compound Restaurant exceeded our expectations - from the atmosphere to the service! We had the Maine Lobster, Bay Scallops with Wild Mushrooms and Organic Stone-Ground Polenta, and fries. For dessert, we couldn’t resist the Compound Opera Cake was absolutely amazing! The wine selection was fantastic too. Can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful dining experience with tasty food and amazing house made sourdough faccacia and butter...I had so many pieces; it was addicting. Service was thoughtful and the environment was nice to eat in with pretty ambience. The drinks were expensive as expected and I really enjoyed the strawberry blossom. There is plenty of parking, which is surprising for the Canyon Road area. I hope to eat here again.
