The staff was excellent, from describing dishes to helping select wines, to service. The noise level started soft, then rose to a crescendo due to a large party of business people or legislators.
Dining at Sasella is always predictable- The food is exciting , delicious and innovative! Chef Christian and staff are always welcoming , helpful professional and well trained to make your experience extraordinary. Outside dining issi wonderful this time of year.
Outstanding Dining Experience at Sassella! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sassella, and it was an experience to remember. From the moment we were welcomed, the service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, professional, and made sure every detail of our evening was perfect. The atmosphere at Sassella is elegant and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion or a relaxed dinner. The attention to detail in both service and presentation was impressive. The menu is a true culinary delight. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and packed with flavor and creativity. The Italian-inspired cuisine, especially the fresh pasta and seafood dishes, stood out as highlights of the evening. I highly recommend Sassella for anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience with exceptional service and outstanding food. I will definitely be back!
Five of us enjoyed a delightful evening at Sassela. From the moment we arrived and were seated at the table I requested, our service was attentive, informative and consistent thanks to Dana's watchful eye. Evan, the sommelier, matched wines to our meal based on our menu choices and tastes. The mushroom and truffle soup was the most amazing soup we'd had all year. Two of the group shared the Caesar and loved it. Other outstanding choices were the creative and delicious pear salad, the burrata and wasabi, a brilliant combination, and a very elevated, yet homey eggplant Parmesan. Everyone loved what was ordered. Pastas and mains were very good but not as imaginative and tasty as our starters. The sea bass was perfectly cooked but the pasta with it overshadowed it. Two of us had mussels beautifully served in a clean saffron broth. Sassela's fennel sausage and fennel on a polenta cake added the interest to the dish. Mushroom carbonara was well received and the risotto in the lobster risotto was deemed better than the crustacean. We shared the chocolate pear mousse and the couple of bites we each enjoyed were a perfect end to our dinner. For the quality of the food, it's careful preparation, the fine service and well selected wine, I felt the bill was very reasonable. We're all looking forward to our next meal at Sassela.
Shared the pear app. I had the eggplant app as my entree. Husband had the tortellini special. Gelato and custard for desserts. Third return visit. Everyone was so pleasant. We were “surprised” at the high wine mark up.
What an amazing dinner! This place was highly recommended by some friends, and were so glad we ate there. Everything was so tasty and so yummy and so authentically Italian – something that we did not expect in Santa Fe. If you want to try something that's not New Mexican cuisine while you're here, definitely go to Sassella!
Lovely dinner for our 20th Anniversary. Food was outstanding! Lobster risotto, eggplant parmesan appetizer, cesare salad and desserts ( tartufo and panna cotta) were all sublime. My husband also loved his wild boar dish. Service was fine, but nothing special for the price point. No mention of Anniversary despite asking for occasion on reservation. Took almost 45 minutes to get ice tea that was ordered before meal was served. Waiter seemed a bit stressed and rushed throughout which is suboptimal for fine dining. We will definitely be back for future special occasions given the amazing- ness of the food.
Service... very good, however our waiter was “missing in action” a couple of times during our dining experience. Food... excellent, mushroom soup, Caesar Salad, Bronzino was excellent... Wine... after a weekend of wine festival we only ordered by the glass. List of wines is very nice and NOT ridiculously priced.
There were three of us. Two of us had the fish special that evening, 9-27-24. Sadly, the fish was over cooked. The other person had the lobster risotto and it lived up to expectations. Appetizers and desserts were outstanding. I will go back the next time I am in Santa Fe.
My husband and I went to the Chile and Wine dinner last night and it was truly incredible. The food and wine pairings were perfect, each outstanding wine paired perfectly with each course. This Chef is something very special and each server went above and beyond to make this a special night for everyone. Highly recommend Sassella in every way.

Best meal I've had in Santa Fe and I've had a lot. I had that ravioli with blueberries the incredible pear appetizer a beautiful bottle of Grillo wine, a beautifully presented delicious goat cheesecake with a crème brûlée Manhattan for dessert. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough a lovely experience.
We really enjoyed our time at this restaurant. We ate outdoors on the patio. We served by Sean. He was very attentive and helpful. Ordered the Lobster risotto and the Barada salad followed by the mushroom soup and good Bolognese. We indulgently Ordered a second course and were unable to finish it– the boar and the bronzino. The drinks are great. Overall, this is the best evening meal we've had in Santa Fe.
The charcuterie board was severed after dinner, due to being sent to another table. Waitress comp it, yet we didn't want it after dinner. Short handed staff. Waiter was bartender and server. She did the best she could under the circumstances. The drinks were forgotten, taken by another waitress. Not the same ambiance as previous experiences.
Sassella never disappoints. Our meal was delicious. I had the special tortelloni cheese dish with mushrooms, toasted prosciutto and pistachios in a light cream sauce. My husband had his favorite lobster risotto. We split the Caesar salad. It was our anniversary so the chef sent out a complimentary dessert. The service was excellent. This is our go to place for special occasions. It's a bit pricey but we always enjoy our experience there. I highly recommend it.
There was a lovely, quiet, romantic ambiance on the patio. We had a server on his first day, so we're giving him the benefit of the doubt. The menu sounds so interesting. The dishes looked beautiful, but the flavor of everything was bland and boring. Nothing was memorable. The fish cake special smelled a little fishy. We expect a lot more at those prices. We won't be back.
