My plate was listed at $13.00 and the owner told her to charge me $15.00 because she was being charged a lot for chicharrones. My plate had no chicharrones. This is not the first time I encounter issues with the owner charging more. Her pound of tortillas is listed as $1.50 and once charged me $2.50. You can tell she is greedy. Every single time I encounter this place she charges more. Very inconsistent with her prices and very rude.

I'm not one to leave magazines, good or bad. But this tortilla has good food, yes. Just the totally horrible service TOTALLY. My mom likes to buy corn tortillas here because she says they taste very good, just because today it was me because she wasn't feeling well. I went in and asked the lady if she just wanted a pound of corn tortillas and then she told me with a horrible attitude that she couldn't change my $20 change because it was already closing and she couldn't accept it. (They close at 5 and I arrived at 4:30.) Then I replied that the 3 times I have had to go for tortillas I always miss it and that every time I come it is a problem. The good thing is that I read the other magazines about this tortilla and we have clients who have also been very helpful with “Chavela” and I totally understand them. I will never return here, I know that just one client lost because of them, they won't care, but it had to be said.

The menu looked amazing… I was really excited until I walked in and was treated like trash. Lady obviously didn’t want me there. Really disappointing because I’m sure the food is delicious.

Their tortillas are the best! Can’t stand Alicia’s tortillas so I was grateful to find the real thing at Chabelitas. And the one who people say is rude asked me in a gruff manner how I make sweet potatoes for thanksgiving. I was charmed.
