Carne adovada was exquisite. Service was excellent, very friendly and attentive staff.
Incredible service, but the chairs were uncomfortable.
This restaurant really gives you the New Mexican vibes. I ordered the Mexican torta with a mint and ginger agua fresca. The torta was really delicious and I totally recommend this place. The bad thing about this place is that it doesn't have lot of space to sit.
We found this place because it said that they were dog friendly and child friendly.
Because of said child we got takeout instead and it was amazing: I had the Carne Adovada Burrito Smothered, and wifey had Green Chile Chicken Tamale plate. Both were large portions in suitable packaging that wasn't too much plastic, in fact, none at all. The price for the meals was good and we definitely plan to come back when we're in Santa Fe again!
I'm from California where we have really good Mexican food and I'm so happy I gave this place a try. Very authentic Southwestern Mexican food, I had the enchiladas con mole and I ordered it with vegetables instead of chicken and it was incredible, the mole was rich and kinda sweet! Very nice and friendly staff, definitely give this place a try!
Knowledgeable on vegan options! We got veggie enchiladas and tamales and they were great!
We went on a Wednesday evening at it was crowded but we got a table outside almost immediately. Service was great, very friendly and helpful. The fish tacos were good, but a little hard to eat because it was piled high with toppings, and I thought the fish was a little dry, but overall, they were very good. The chicken mole was great. The rice and beans were well seasoned. Cocktails were also good, like the Paloma and mezcal margarita ($14 each). Would definitely go again (maybe better than waiting 45-60min for a spot at the shed.
If you’re used to Tex Mex or Nuevo León Mexican, expect a different flavor.
My mom is from central Mexico and we went to this place while on vacation. She ordered the mole enchiladas. The mole was very sweet, which we’re not used to. The beans also had a strange flavor and the rice was bland and not well cooked. Both hadn’t cooked long enough and were a little hard.
I got the barbacoa tacos based on the recommendation from the person at the counter. 😬 The barbacoa tasted like a mild cochinita pibil which was surprising. The salsas were not spicy and the tacos were topped with a cabbage slaw. Again, I’ve never had barbacoa tacos like these (my family makes barbacoa with lamb instead of beef but in Texas beef barbacoa is king).
Not to mention I spent $60 on these two dishes, a Mexican Coke and a topo chico. Texans - there are better places to eat lunch.
I would give five stars if I could. Though there’s nothing specifically vegan on the menu, they will work with you. I’ve been three times this week, and every time the staff has been exceptionally helpful. They know what vegan means, and they will make suggestions as to how you can veganise many of their dishes. Plus, it’s delicious!
Staff was easy to work with and offered many ways to make the menu vegan friendly. The enchilada sauce was delicious. The veggie tamales were fantastic and the tacos were great. This restaurant turned out being our favorite during our visit. Be sure to ask for no dairy on the plate and let them know at the start of the order you are vegan and they are happy to work with you.

Loved the food and service was impeccable. Great margaritas and rum & Coke. Tamales the best in Santa Fe. The one place we came twice.

Go for the door and the service - not for the atmosphere. Tacos were very good and staff was super friendly.
