Scratch Pet Friendly •
100 W 8th St, Silver City

“The outside seating at Scratch is my favorite. I wish they had more of it. The view of all the greenery down to the Big Ditch provides a relaxing atmosphere. The young man that served us both times we've been was courteous \\u0026 chipper. :) Reserving our order was easy, and I like the simplicity and excitement of Scratch offering just one dish each week, and it changing from week to week. ...and the food is very, very good. So far we've had their Bibimbap and Chicken Katsu with Japanese Curry. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious. For all its charms, the hard part of living in a small town for me, is a lack of variety of interesting foods. I get excited to see dishes I can't get elsewhere in town, and since Scratch does it so well, we will keep coming back.“

“Easily the best eats in Silver. Been here over 10 times now and it's always a great experience. The owner is super nice, the vibe is casual and friendly, and the food is always good (the menu changes daily). My favorite are the biscuits and gravy - the biscuits are made from scratch, as is the gravy. I love the little patio outside where sometimes there are musical guests. The design inside the main dining area is really fun and unique with custom tables and geometric cut-out art on the walls.Kid-friendliness: Casual and unpretentious. Bench or picnic table seating. Plenty of room for kid paraphernalia.“

“Coffee, itself, is but the impetus of the culture of coffee – metaphorical as a poem, nuanced as a painting, indulgent as a late sixties, early seventies rock 'n roll playlist… Synaesthetically pleasing.Good coffee, and all of its accompaniments, demands a worthy barista. She, or he, in providing service, surpasses expectations. Details matters.Coffee is not fast food, not immediate gratification, not mere routine. Coffee is ritual, sustenance, transcendence. From the approach, to the entry, to the order, to the table, to the coffee…all within a context of metaphysical comfort and inspiration, a coffee house should embrace, heart to heart, recollection to remembrance.Javalina Coffee House, Silver City, New Mexico, from Las Cruces, New Mexico, Wednesday morning, 21 June. For two – dark-roast drip, with raw sugar and real milk; freshly brewed, iced hibiscus tea, with raw sugar. Our most delightful barista, Valentina.Silver City abounds in charm. Javalina Coffee House is amongst its most alluring venues. Drive an hour and a half for coffee. To Javalina's, without hesitation.“

Open Space Brewing Brewery •
11990 US-180 Santa Clara Armory, Santa Clara - 7.19 miles

“By car, Open Space Brewing is located in the old National Guard Armory at 11990 US Highway 180, Santa Clara. You'll see the fenced-in "beer corral" in front of the light blue garage door in the northwest corner of the building. Hiking? Mountain biking? From the Dragonfly Trailhead or Twin Sisters Creek Trail, travel east on the west loop of the Cross Country Course Trail, crossing the creek. The more picturesque, less direct Bataan Memorial Trail snakes around the more direct east loop of the Cross Country Course Trail. Your goal is to get to the radio control airfield on the top of the hill. Looking down the hill towards the highway, you will be able to see the light blue garage door. Open Space Brewing is currently open, Thursday 4-8pm Friday 4-8pm Saturday 12-8pm Check their web site, Facebook page or Instagram page for their latest hours. There's typically a food truck or two at Open Space Brewing on Fridays and Saturdays. Open Space Brewing maintains a Food Truck Schedule on their web site. Open Space Brewing is always BYOF-friendly (Bring Your Own Food). Open Space Brewing offers live music and hosts events from time to time. Check out the Event Calendar on their web site. Open Space Brewing welcomes well-behaved dogs and cats. And now the most important part ... the beer! Open Space Brewing typically has a half dozen beers on tap. The taps are constantly rotating. All of the beers are true to style and include both ales and lagers. The beer styles range from classics like German pilsner and stout to newer styles like pastry beers. The NM-15 Hazy IPA with Cashmere, Bru-1, Southern Passion and Strata hops is shaping up to be a flagship beer. At 8.3% ABV, the NM-15 could be considered a Hazy or Juicy Imperial IPA and is my personal favorite. You're welcome to sample beers. Open Space Brewing offers flights. And Open Space Brewing will fill your growler with great care. Open Space Brewing also offers non-alcoholic beverages such as Pomegranate Bubbles, Lemon Ginger & Pineapple Bubbles and The Lonely Boot Root Beer. Good beer. Good food. Good people. All trails lead to Open Space Brewing!“
