Go Steelers! I believe I remember there being a sign inside that said Abe was from Pittsburgh? Then was in the navy during WW2.

You're a fool if your on the way to Taos Ski Valley and don't stop in on the way up. This is a MUST for all visitors in the area. GREAT burritos and service too. Lena was an excellent host and I had a lifechanging conversation with her while she made my delicious breakfast. You may pick up some groceries too, and hit the bar on the way back into Taos for a celebration beverage after a long day skiing.I'm a fan of small businesses and this is a family owned and operated place for like over 50 years or something. This is the kind of place you can stop in every year, and I'll bet they will remember you each time! Love it!!!

We have lived in The Land of Enchantment for many decades, and Abes has been our destination for tamales when we are in Taos. My wife and I usually share chicken smothered green and pork tamales smothered red. Years ago when we lived in Denver, we would take a couple of dozen ones home in an ice chest. This week, we bought frozen ones to eat at home Albuquerque. Abes is not a fancy place. It's a cantina with a little attacjed store/cafe. You order at the counter and they call your name when it's ready. They serve the best tamales in NM...probably the best anywhere on earth.

Forget ALL the rest, this is THE BEST BREAKFAST BURRITO ON THE PLANET! Conveniently located, be sure to phone in your order before you head up the mountain, you won't be disappointed!

Best breakfast burritos (and green chile) around!!

Abe's small kitchen turns out delicious, home-style Mexican eats, but operating hours have become fractured and confusing, post-pandemic. To drive from Taos and find them closed mid-week has become the norm. Sadly, I'm no longer a regular.

The food is pretty great, they have some specials in their menu, the tamales and the taquitos special are my favorite. Here is a pro tip, order a side of guacamole (it’s actually just some smush aguante) but totally worth it.

I live here, and their food is excellent. The Rolled chicken tacos with salsa, and beans and rice is perfect

We stopped in at Abe’s Cantina the other evening for a quick beer and the crew and patrons made us feel right at home. We also had the honor of meeting Abe. He is an amazing man with an amazing life story. Great service and the prices are right, too! I would recommend anyone stop by Abe’s for a glimpse into an incredible town and its incredible people.

Quick and easy breakfast burrito before heading up the valley. Nice and spicy green chili.

Spent one month in New Mexico and the rudest and least helpful person I met worked behind the bar at this place.

Walked in after a quick trip to Taos mountain where the beer was too damn $$$ Abe's was just what the Dr ordered. Cold beer and friendly folks offering the local perspective for the mountain area. Can't wait to go back and try the food.

We called in from a long hike, hungry and tired. Abe’s was the rest spot we needed with hearty and delicious no fuss food and plenty of friendly banter at the bar. A great memory and somewhere we hope continues to keep its charm.

Very accommodating when we rolled in 15 minutes 'til close after ten hours in the car. We were a bit desperate, but they filled out to-go order quickly and the food was fantastic.
