We ate on the patio, outdoors, where it was very beautiful and quiet. Food was uniformly excellent: brussels sprouts, chile relleno and Chicken Club Sandwich (with side salad). Homemade lemonade with seltzer and ginger beer to drink.
Everything was great thank you for your hospitality. And the dessert. For our anniversary. Emma our server was great .
Beautiful dining area although we didn't get to stay there. We were seated next to a group of four who were actively visiting and our hostess graciously offered to move us to the bar dining area for a quieter experience. This area was not as formal or elegant but had beautiful tropical plants and very private. The chef special , sea bass over forbidden rice and delicate vegetables was outstanding. The glazed salmon was also tasty, but a bit overcooked. The waiter was a bit rusty but knew how to be attentive without being intrusive. Great experience overall.
My hamburger was overcooked and the fries too salty. My husband's steak was tough and overcooked and his fries not hot enough. The chocolate cake was outstanding, however.
Amazing atmosphere and the tacos are to die for! Go on taco Tuesday and have the best tacos you've ever had for $3 a piece. The prickly pear margarita is also amazing.
Good, not great. Service was a bit off, server forgot we had a salad so the entrees came early.
As a local, I frequent the bar as it is right down the street from where I live. Recently I went for happy hour. The bartender told me my 2 drinks were on happy hour prices. When I asked for the bill, another bartender took my Gold Card & presented me a bill for full price & said they no longer had happy hour prices. The original bartender did not know that but after a short conversation, apologized & the other bartender would not give me the discount price. I paid full price — double what it should have been. I’m a long time customer & he didn’t care when I said I would not be back. Note: on the web site, it still says they have happy hour. I learned that the long-time bar manager quit, as did my favorite bartender. Apparently there is a new GM. I will not be back. They simply don’t care that I’ve been coming there & their restaurant for anniversary & birthday dinners. No more. This place no longer wants locals— it’s only for tourists. Avoid it! Terrible customer service!!
Delicious margaritas and fantastic happy hour price!
The bald bartender was incredibly inattentive, unprofessional, and rude. With 3 other people there, it still took fifteen minutes to get a glass of wine poured. I ended up leaving without even receiving my order.
This is the THIRD time I have had a bad experience at the Anaconda Bar. We stopped in over the weekend as my mother was in town staying at El Monte Sagrado. I sat with my husband waiting for my mother to join us. I waited 20 minutes for the bartender Paul to barely acknowledge my presence. In the time I waited, he was not busy, he walked around, spoke to other patrons, and served them....all while I waited patiently. I asked about white wine, and he scoffed and walked away. A woman approached the bar next to where I was seated and he happily served her. I am sure my irritation was visible by this time and another waiter came and provided me with a menu, by that time I was already uninterested in purchasing anything based on this bartender's dismissive and rude attitude (Again, this is the THIRD time this man has provided poor service, I have been here on a date prior with the same rudeness and with my office- where it took us nearly all night to receive our drinks and Paul was dismissive and behaved as if our presence was a nuisance) My mother joined us and we sat at lounge table, The waiter brought us menus and waters, then he disappeared for 20 minutes more, by this time we were all aggravated and decided to leave. We ended up having dinner and drinks at Sagebrush. SUPERIOR service by the staff at The Sagebrush, and live music. I will never return to Anaconda Bar, I suggest they provide some hospitality training to Paul or find a better bartender.

Paul not only makes superior cocktails but curates the most sublime music for his patrons ❤️

With the talented Cristina Martinez at the helm, this is one of the best restaurants in northern New Mexico. Do not miss the Ash Crusted Tuna Aguachile, both delicious and beautifully presented or the Hatch Chile Relleno, just bursting with New Mexico flavor. Be sure and save room for the S'More, sinfully good and a visual delight! The staff is lovely and efficient and the setting is quiet, comfortable and elegant.
The food was good and there were many things I could have ordered. The issue was service: too slow at the beginning and too fast later. They actually brought our salads and entrees at the same time! We sent the entrees back. When they brought them back I was just finishing my salad.
Overall, the dining experience was okay. We had an older gentleman (restaurant waiter) for dinner Friday night who was great! The bar wait staff on Saturday was VERRRY slow and overall not great (people were complaining and walking out) We were not in a rush, so it was not a huge deal for us. The brunch food was good, service was mediocre at best, just meh.
