Bad service. Food was bad. Chicken was dry. The smoked ribs made my daughter sick. The Caesar salad wasn't bad

Caesar Salad had an off taste. Ribs were cool, rub used wasn't very flavorful, and meat didn't readily fall off the bones. Barbecue sauce was ok but not great. Service was friendly but a little slow. Probably a great place for locals but for someone raised on good barbecue, it's kind of underwhelming, ok but not great.
Vegetarian options: Not a priority for me so didn't look.
Kid-friendliness: Looked good, several kids were there.

Menu prices are astronomical for the quality of food served

Drink refills are 1.00 each and i couldnt help but drink because of the amount of sweating i was doing

We are on a road trip and New Mexico has been so lovely to us! We were craving sopapillas after hiking the Rio Grande Gorge and wound up here. We got tamales, a quesadilla, deluxe nachos, a house salad, and extra sopapillas (which were amazing with honey!). Everything was delicious and our whole family cleaned every plate. Our server was kind, welcoming, and accommodating to us out-of-towners. Thank you for such a great experience!

Our last night in Taos, wife and I decided on this place. Highly rated. Couldn't help but see the awards won over the years. Had a special little nook for them when you walk in.
We decided to split the steak and shrimp. Her side dish was a salad, mine the baked potato.
Steak was ordered medium rare, and it was. The flavor of the steak was good, but it was one of the toughest steaks I've had in a while. By the time you cut all the fat away, we were left with gristle. We managed to eat half, but with so much gristle, we just gave up.
Service was good, as was everything else.
Our meal, with two teas came to $44. We didn't pay that much for a steak TWICE as big at the Big Texan steakhouse in Amarillo.
Since I'm never coming back, lesson learned.

Was looking forward to our meal which was lacking in freshness, flavor and presentation. We all ordered a regrettable house margarita that was watered down and had zero alcohol. For $10 each this was a huge disappointment as they had zero flavor. Ridiculously over priced and the most disappointing meal in our vacation.

I don't understand how this place gets good reviews.
I am born and raised New Mexican, transplanted to Arizona. We were in Taos and wanted NewMexican food. Especially sopapilla. Somehow they gotthat wrong. They used yeast. Yeast ruined the flavor and texture. The honey tasted more like honey sauce.
The tamale tastes like it was spoiled. Ground beef tastes like potted meat/vienna sausage. No joke.
Niether the wife nor I could eat the enchilada or tamale.
The beans while I enjoyed them mixed with green chile. After trying my wifes without chile, I realized they were Ranch Style beans.
Like others reviewed, the margarita tasted weak like it was premix.
I am curious how much of their food is canned ir bagged.
I will gives points a pretty good chile relleno.

Don't go to this restaurant unless you want to be nickled and dimed to death. My wife and I ordered the beef fajitas, but I wanted chicken and so for $7.00 they added chicken. Fair enough. They gave us one tortilla between the two of us. That was it. I asked the waitress-can I have a tortilla too?
Sure she said and then charged me for it-only $1.00-but why? 2 cents worth of flour to make it. In all my decades of eating fajitas I've never received just one tortilla, and never been charged if I needed one more.
The salsa and chips-$7.00-most Mexican restaurants provide them complimentary.
The $10 house margarita I'm sure was a mix and I couldn't taste any tequila. Then we were charged $2.00 because we used a credit card. This restaurant has got to do better if they are going to retain customers.

I order a margarita it was pre-made and tasted like sour mix, and then I got the fajitas and only one tortilla. Between the margarita and food and the bell the kitchen kept on pressing every 19 seconds. Not worth it at all.
