Waited almost an hour for a luke-warm burrito with no sides. Family next to me waited 30 minute for a check. Poor service and beyond slow in the kitchen. I won't be back, very dissapointed.
The green salsa was so salty we couldn’t eat it. The chips were also over salted. I had the ultimate burrito with el pastor meat as my choice (up charge) and they were out of guacamole! The meat was overcooked and so chewy it was inedible. My hubby got the adobo special and it was also super salty - it was awful. We told our server. She said they were sorry. Don’t waste your time or money at this establishment!

Nothing but good things to say about this humble little Mexican spot - every dish was absolutely delicious. Amazing chile rellenos, enchiladas, ughhhh just delicious!!!! Absolutely recommended for authentic homemade food in Taos. Friendly service as well, thank you!!!!!!

Kind of hard to find since they moved the entry door to the side of the building, but well worth it once you get inside. Super friendly manager John cooked up the absolute best taquitos I've ever tasted. "Real" corn tortillas, stuffed with asada and fried crispy, not those little taquitos you usually find at fast food places. This is seriously good food. Thanks John, we'll be back.

now that kalapenos has closed down, there are not many acceptable Mexican restaurants left in taos.
We were pleasantly surprised with Maria’s!
The manager is fantastic, professional and personable.
due to lack of staff, he does absolutely everything here, including waiting tables.
the fish and chips were hand battered, and they definitely made certain the oil was hot enough (a common mistake made by many restaurants when you go at off hours).
the restaurant is surprisingly quite large and the bathrooms are clean and spacious.
so much better than la cueva.
we will certainly be going back.
Vegetarian options: vegetarian options certainly exist
Dietary restrictions: i think that as long as your needs are communicated that you will find options
Parking: large lot shared with la terraza, the joint, and an italian place
Kid-friendliness: quite friendly
Wheelchair accessibility: ground floor, no problem

I had the huevos rancheros with chorizo and red chili. It was astounding. Probably the best chorizo I've had. Excellent New Mexican style red sauce all on blue corn tortillas.

I can't rate the restaurant because what seen yesterday the small mgr. treated the waitresses so bad he yell in front of customers put her down because he says she for got some items on our plate we ordered my plate was fish and chip which so burned I couldn't even eat this fried it was burned and to go was combination plate which enchiladas was forgotten he started yell in kitchen where we could all hear he was blaming her, not unless she was cook our whole cost over 80.
00 .This short mgr. was very rude and mean to this young lady that waitresses .I'm from Rio Rancho New Mexico visiting Toas but I will not eat at this place not unless service from short mgr leaves and food is better cooked .I am sending this to better business . This man is short mean person he doesn't belong in Mangerment business

Best meal we’ve had in New Mexico! Better than La Cueva in Taos and La Choza in Santa Fe in our opinion. Got the mixed meat fajitas. Highly recommend.
