Awesome little place, crazy cool interior paintings… people who actually were customers in the past painted on the walls. The Lizard Lounge’s dance floor was original wood! Servers were knowledgeable about the history!Hubby had a burger, I had wings! The food was good.

Sad, lonely place. Came here on the prior reviews that showed an extensive menu and positive comments on food; it seemed that a major decision to greatly downsize the menu (now which resembles a one sheet happy-hour bar offering) was just made by management. Having said that, the onion rings and their red chili are quite good and our server was genial and understanding. This must have been quite the place during the Route 66 heyday.

We are driving through from Tampa Bay to Moab, Utah and this is our first time out west. There couldn't have been a better place to welcome us. From iconic decor to pleasant staff to great food, it checked every box! This will be a staple from now on.

What happened? The menu went down from 3 pages of great foods to a tiny selection of choices. Should have looked for a Taco Bell? Service was good. Drinks and food prices are not worth it.

Great potential for this restaurant. Food was good and service very personable. New management can do well with bar and restaurant space. Work in progress.
We went here based in their website. The place is under new management and the menu now mostly burgers. He had an order of mozzarella sticks ,they were fair at best, then we left.

Great place for late night eats. It is a bit dark from my outside but the inside is fun. They are under new management and have a limited menu. The Quesadilla was wonderful and the Frito Chilli Pie with Red Chili was outstanding. The fresh hot chips and salsa were the real deal with just enough heat and amazing flavor. We look forward to our next time.

We came in late and were looking for a cocktail and a light dinner. This place had the most excellent family atmosphere. We laughed and joked like we had know each other for years! We found out half way through our dinner it was opening night. If you are passing through stop by. Tell Chris we said hi! Our waitress was the absolute best. Praying for her health and family!

Interesting. But charged us $117.70 for a $48.00 dinner. NOT that good. I will never grace their doors again.
Tucumcari, New Mexico has certainly taken a blow since interstate 40 bypassed the town. They seem to exist primarily on tourists driving the historic Route 66.The Pow Wow restaurant and Inn is one of the businesses trying to make it on the tourist trade. We came here based on solid reviews left on Google by others. I fully understand the difficulties that these businesses are facing. I hate to leave an unfavorable review for this restaurant, but I feel I have to.We were seated promptly by a gentleman who I believe was the proprietor. It took a while for our waitress to appear. The dinner crowd was largely septuagenarians. There wasn’t any background music, so the atmosphere was weirdly quiet. Another odd thing we’re the wall paintings of former Tucumcari residents painted as if they were seated in our booth with us. (See photo)My partner ordered the ranch burger which tasted okay, and onion rings which were good.I ordered tacos which were the evening’s special, but were exceptionally bland, and the tortillas were soggy and falling apart. They were probably the worst tacos I’ve had in years. The refried beans looked like they were reheated from the day before ( see photo) and were equally as bad tasting.Until they step up their game, I’d recommend eating somewhere else.
Food was bleh. Had the Mexican combo plate. Tacos had a tablespoon of ground meat not flavored. Rice needed seasonings and salt. Refried beans were dry on top, had zero flavor. Cheese enchilada was 3 out of 5. Salsa was very good...Tamale tasted 2 out of 5...it filed us up though! But not worth the $15 each....
