“Nostalgic diner, with a Route 66 flare. You can’t go wrong with this small town friendly restaurant. Their staff (Davonna) were very polite, helpful, and welcoming. The menu choices reflected New Mexico style food, including Christmas for red or green sauces. We had the huevos rancheros with crispy hash browns, beans & eggs and a green chili omelet with homemade sausage. It was all delicious! The bathrooms were really clean, a big plus, but the hometown feel left us with a frequent stops in our future as we travel Oklahoma to New Mexico.”
“This is going to be the strangest review you’ve ever read. I lived in Tucumcari the first 4 years of my life. My father owned & operated Reed’s 5 & 10 store there in the early 50’s and La Cita was the first restaurant I’d ever at. I was a 4 year old Mexican food junkie. I am 71 now and every Mexican Restaurant I’ve tried since as failed to compare favorably. My favorite selections were Chili Rellenos & Enchiladas, of course with rice & beans. The owner back then was Maurice Snyder & he & my father were members of the Rotary Club & friends. We ate there frequently.I’ve moved a lot since then, mostly in New Mexico, Texas, & Oklahoma, along Route 66. I eat Mexican food more than any other cuisine. La Cita is the reference. I haven’t been there in 40+ years but still long for the special flavors they provide. I’m looking forward to returning with no fear of disappointment!!Keith Reed (son of Raye & Nelle)”
“One of my new favorites in Tucumcari. The service was excellent and the food was plentiful. I had the mixed fajitas and while the chicken was perfect, I found the steak to have quite a bit of gristle. It was good but I had to work around the hard stuff. Multiple salsa options for the chips was a nice option. I didn’t have dessert but I saw someone eating some amazing looking cake.”
“i enjoyed the Sopaipillas with Jalapeno cream sauce delicious. Came with rice, choice of bean, chips and salsa, and a desserr sopaipilla. Husband ordered the catfish which came with choice of 2 sides. Everything we had waa delicious. Far above our expectation. Service was great! Friendly and attentive. Very clean, comfortable dining room. Highly recommend”

“You have a lady named Allison who was working the morning shift, and I gave her 5 stars. She was so pleasant, greeted everyone, and told them to have a nice day. She was great in every aspect. You don't get that in Dallas, TX, anywhere. She deserves a huge promotion if you ask me. Made the dining experience wonderful !”
“Wow the pizza was on point tonight, super delicious! Ordered the bacon cheeseburger pizza with extra cheese, a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and cheese sticks and everything was very tasty. A little pricey but it was completely worth it! :) My husband forgot to tip before he left after picking up the pizza which turned out to be a good thing cause the pizzas were so good I sent him back to give a nice tip which is way more than if he'd remembered lol. :) Thank you for making our pizza night great!”
“Dining experience was enhanced by a very friendly and attentive staff. Biscuits brought to the table were delicious, and the entrées were prepared to perfection.”
“We stopped at this Denny’s for breakfast and Phyllis was the most warm and welcoming waitress we have seen in Many years! Her bubbly attitude and smile made us feel so great. The entire staff from the gentleman who seated us to the Buss person who all offered us coffee were so friendly and Willing to help that we didn’t want to go. One of the absolute best dining experiences we have ever had! And my wife was a waitress for decades so she knows what good service is!”
“Sometimes they don't have all the chicken pieces. They are waiting for them to be done. Doesn't happen often but it happens. Usually very delicious And good food.”
“This place is absolutely what I wanted. Chinese food at its finest. Honestly, in a legendary and historical city like this, I can really say that this place is a great first choice if you're in the mood for some chinese food.”
“I found this place on Route 66 in Tucumcari New Mexico. The food had great flavor loved the potato salad the beans are not baked beans that we were used to in the Midwest but the beans had great flavor. Great place to shop as well.”
