I’m addicted to the mango lassi and the butter chicken as you know. So happy to have the convenience of being on the main strip and so close to our shop that I’ll stop over for lunch & dinner more often! The new place looks great!

Got the steamed dumplings for take out. They were delicious and tender with a nice tangy peanut sauce.

What a beautiful Reno! It’s going to be dangerous having them across the street from my office. Today I had a mango lassi & red curry shrimp. WAS SOOOOOO GOOD!!!!

Decided to treat myself today at The Brown Dog Kitchen.
I like the idea of the wall menu that included specials of the day, and they all looked amazing to try!
I went in specifically for the chicken satay.
Overall, the meal was perfectly portioned. I was hoping the chicken was on a skewer as the pictured but instead, it was cubed and placed neatly on a bed of rice with two bamboo mini skewers.
A side of a spicy cucumber salad, also a peanut dip for the chicken that was so subtle and tasteful. While biting into the butter tart, the crust is fluffy and crunchy at the same time. The filing just rightly and just sweet enough. I'm not sure if it was homemade, but it was great!
I also love that the restaurant is steps away from the library.
A very unique experience.

Food was good although could have used more spice. It took forever to make our dishes and you’re basically eating in a library which is a bit weird.

Food tastes like ass. Too expensive. 0/10, don't recommend, students are better off walking to town for food

For my grandpa's 92nd birthday I wanted to get him a locally made treat instead of a boring grocery store cake. His favourite dessert has always been butter tarts, so when I saw that Brown Dog was making them, I jumped at the chance to try them out! They were happy to take my order for a dozen tarts a few days before the birthday party and were able to have them ready for me to pick up after work. My whole family loved them; pure perfection of the classic butter tart. <3

A friend and I ate there the first time - the taste and flavour transported me to Mumbai (Bombay), the days of my youth eating and savoring Bombay street food.
Two days later took my wife to enjoy the same. We drove from Halifax (200Km - worth it). We loved the food and Tricia was wonderful and warm. Exchanged a few Bombay memories.
The menu is just right. Pav Bhaji tasted like eating at Nariman Point and the Pork Vindaloo at a famous Parsi restaurant in Bombay. And the Curry puffs from the famous 200 year old restaurants at Dhobi Talao. And then finishing it off with Mango Lassi had me heading to the nearest beach for a snooze in the sand.
Ms. Tricia Batliwalla has nailed it!

Vegetarian options: Pav-bhaji.

Decided to go when I didn’t know what to make for supper. So glad we did. Excellent food with amazing service. Would certainly go back again. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food. Can’t wait to try some different dishes next time.

Yum! The red curry was a bit watery but the flavour is authentic. Generous amount of shrimps too. The mango lassi was so delicious. This is so much better than the oh so common fish and chips that is Nova Scotia. If you want fresh and healthy food, you’re in luck!

Very disappointing considering all the good reviews. I understand cultural dishes are the specialty here, though I feel like an honest review is in order for any tourists in the area that might not have the most diverse tastebuds considering this is one of the few local delivery options. I can tell the food was prepared with care, but with the few options we were provided and the false advertising through your menu we won’t be returning.

Decided to try this restaurant while staying for a couple nights in Annapolis Royal because it is one of the few places in the area that does delivery. Our first pick restaurant delivery driver was sick.

We found the menu online, although most of the menu we were both unfamiliar with, we both found Cheeseburger options and decided to go with those. Though the cheeseburger is a lunch option, we thought it would be available considering the menu online says breakfast is available ALL day.

We called them at roughly 4:45pm to place a delivery order and were told that they could only make 3 items at that time; we were unfamiliar with all except the pulled pork sandwich. I don’t understand how you can’t serve burgers after 4pm. I can’t even eat pork but it was better than not eating at all which was truly the reality. So we ordered 2 pulled pork sandwiches. No other food. No drinks. It was $29.90 for the 2 sandwiches. I was expecting them to be a lot bigger for the price but they weren’t. I ended up having to pick off most of the pork, leaving just the bun and few veggies that were on it.

My experience here absolutely sucked. They advertise menus online that we couldn’t order a thing off. They gave us three options completely different from what we wanted on the menu. “You can’t order burgers after 4pm” then why the hell bother with delivery? You shouldn’t if you can’t make what’s on the menu. If I could give zero stars I would! But too bad that’s not an option

The food at the Brown Dog was delicious and fresh. We had the butter chicken, Chana masala and curried beef in puff pastry.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The atmosphere was very clean but since they are in a repurposed school, it did seem a little institutional. There are tables and comfortable seating.
