We had our 20 year anniversary dinner here while staying in Grandville Ferry. It was perfect, amazing food and the view was breathtaking. Can't wait to come back to Nova

We went here on the recommendation of our B&B hosts, and we were bitterly disappointed. First of all, I ordered a double for my pre-dinner drink, and there's no way there was 2oz in there despite them charging me $20. Second, the lady who owns the place (I presume) was brusque and borderline rude. Third of all, the food was pretty bad. Not terrible, but not pleasant either. For a dinner that expensive, I'd expect it to taste better than something my 12 year old could throw together - uninspired and bland and... odd. My friend's dish was just as bad. After our experience there, and what I've read about the owner being rude to people with kids and the LGTBQ+ community, we will not be going back, nor will we recommend it to any of our friends/family.

Kid-friendliness: We made a reservation well in advance. Knowing we were bringing children within their “age policy,” we were seated far away from the dining room in the front entry area. We were all by ourselves eating at what I now call “the kids’ table.” When asked what accommodations could be made for one child’s meal like pasta, etc. the owner told us none. We ate our meals, and enjoyed each other’s company. The atmosphere, nor food were “fine dining,” as the owner stated. I regret supporting this restaurant, and hope others will take heed and look elsewhere in Annapolis Royal for a welcoming and delicious meal.

Everything my wife and I had was delicious, from the linguine with scallops and shrimp to the salmon teriyaki. The setting, next to the bay, is beautiful. When we had an issue with an inexperienced server, the owner more than made it right. I recommend the restaurant wholeheartedly.

Excellent lobster linguini! The terrace has a really nice view on the river. Main negative point, the owner may be a bit rude in her comments.

Lobster linguine was perfect as was Kaiser. We sat on the patio on a lovely evening ...ending meal with Hot Love for dessert.

The restaurant is unique, just like the charm of the boss.
The food was great and the service was great.
As it is always very fully booked, reservations are recommended.
Definitely try it out.
We really enjoyed it and enjoyed it.
It's just a shame that it's so far away from Berlin.

Attention LGBTQ folks: I would suggest avoiding this place! Went into this restaurant one evening recently with my partner. We both look visibly queer, and walked in holding hands and asked for a table for two. Immediately felt a bad vibe, and were told they didn't have space for us, but the restaurant was empty. It felt awful and homophobic. We walked by the place 45 min later and it was still empty, and then happened to pass it an hour later, STILL empty. It felt pretty obvious what had happened. Will never try going here again, and would encourage others to support more welcoming businesses in the area - had a great time at Whisky Teller and Bistro East!

Dropped by for dinner, sleepy Sunday in a small town, as expected maybe a third of the tables were occupied, and a group of walk ins had just been sat.

Asked if a table was possible (there were 5 tables and it was about an hour to close so, doubtful that reservations were coming in)

The lady was extremely brusque and rude. Said “you expect a table? Without a reservation??” Then said she’d let the previous group of walk ins come by but that was it and just sort of brusquely waved of us out of the place.

If the restaurant was short staffed or something that was fine, not a problem to say that but acting like we were trying to get a table at a Michelin star restaurant in New York without a reservation was a bit much. Won’t bother returning, would advise against anyone doing the same

Drove into town to go to this restaurant based on the menu and offerings. Didn't read reviews far back enough - what others have said still rings true. Nothing online states no children under 12 allowed - there is a sign at the door that says "not suitable for children under 12." Came into the empty restaurant to ask what that meant exactly, no kids menu? What was not suitable? The owner came up motioning no kids and said it was "just her philosophy." It could have been communicated clearly before driving all the way there, and expressed kindly once we arrived and asked. Wouldn't go back even without a kid because of how unwelcome and rude. Hoping to add a more recent review for anyone else coming with kids- be warned!

Only if I listened to the many other one star reviews, extremely rude owner, even waitress is scared to talk to the owner, expensive average food. Enter at your own risk. ;)

My husband and I celebrated our 42 anniversary at beautiful restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, local ingredients and our server was awesome . The owner took the time to sit and chat with us and introduced us to the chef .
The view and setting is beautiful .
Well worth the trip to Annapolis Royal just to dine here .
