Absolutely fabulous!!

Everytime we go here, the small but carefully thought of menu doesn’t disappoint. The risotto is to die for. The pan seared haddock is the right mix of crunchy and creamy, dill sauce complements it very well. Even the roasted baby potatoes are done right, crispy. I love that the shrimp is not the usual, with tails, abomination. Service is outstanding.

So refreshing to have a restaurant that has fresh, à la minute food, stellar service.

Your host Amanda, is a formidable lady, who cares about the food she serves.

You can’t miss this place if you’re in Annapolis Royal.

Really nice food in a beautiful setting. We were seated on the patio with a view of the water. Was worried it would be cold but our table was well protected. The Schnitzels are delicious, came with some veggies and choice of side. Garden salad was fresh with a nice dressing. Able to finish the plates wasn't a ridiculous serve and we had room for dessert. Nice selection of wines too, some local some not. Make a reservation before showing up. Meals came out quickly, we were in and out two courses in less than an hour. One of only two restaurants open in the town on a Sunday night!

I have no idea why Amanda is in the food service industry. Her personality is like Jekyll/Hyde. Half the time she's pleasant and great with customers, and the next minute you walk in there, and she is rude, abrasive and verbly attacks people. I think she needs to sit down and read all the negative reviews to understand what she is doing wrong. I'm not sure if she doesn't understand what it means to be a Maritimer, maybe it's because she's from Austria and this is how they treat people. You have a restaurant that caters to tourists, but you don't allow families to bring in children that are 12 years old!!?? This is the most bizarre thing I've heard. I would suggest that she sell to someone who knows how to run a restaurant and treats tourists and the Annapolis Royal community in a positive, friendly manner.

Outstanding Austrian food and local seafood dishes. The owner who is Austrian is very gracious. The food is the best in the area. The restaurant is located right on the shore with both indoor and outdoor dining with $1 million view a must location to dine if you are ever in Annapolis Royale absolutely beautiful.

Dining here was an elegant experience from start to finish. The menu was thoughtfully curated, making it easy to choose, and every dish I tried made me full and satisfied. The flavours were rich, fresh, and beautifully presented.

The atmosphere of composé was romantic and luxurious, with a breathtaking ocean view that made the evening feel truly special. I found its the kind of place perfect for both a romantic night out or a memorable celebration with friends!

The customer service was warm and welcoming, and the staff made us feel genuinely cared for. To top it off, the owner was absolutely lovely, adding a personal touch that made the experience even more unforgettable. You can tell shes very hardworking and cares about her guests and the quality of the meals that leave her kitchen.

This restaurant is truly a gem in Annapolis and never fails to impress. It will forever be a top favourite and my friends and I will absolutely be returning.

Very friendly staff. Beautiful atmosphere. The food we had was wonderful. I mean the tagliatelle with shrimp and scallops was out of this world delicious. Would definitely go back.

We enjoyed a delightful meal at Restaurant Composé by the sea in Annapolis Royal...just two old ladies celebrating an eighty-second birthday.

The restaurant itself is elegant, with beautiful outdoor seaside seating. They are SO popular, and opened for dinner from 5 to 8 pm... get your reservations in early!

We enjoyed their Lobster Linguine, with delicious homemade pasta, and a delectable lobster sauce. Even the serving dishes are beautiful!

Cheesecake with local blueberries...simple, creamy, smooth, delicious.

We have visited several times now, and would definitely drive from Halifax to enjoy again. Try it, I promise that you will not be disappointed. 🥰

The best scallops I've ever had.

Very clicky...not a kind reception at all. It could have been a lovely evening if it wasn't for the host.

I should have listened to the reviews. Food was well prepared but the owner is a nightmare. We were put in the direct sun and when asked to be moved the staff was agreeable until the owner came storming out of the kitchen and said you are assigned table X we are a small restaurant and can’t accommodate changes. Guess what? When our food was delivered we were told that we can the move because guests “canceled”.
At that point I just wanted to get the hell out of that place and not Spend a penny more.

I phoned this restaurant and spoke with the owner about ordering a gift certificate. She was incredibly rude and amazingly, even hung up on me! I was stunned as my questions were all to simply learn if they do provide certificates and how I could get one. I hope this woman treats her staff better -- I for one will never set foot in this place.

We travel at least once per year to the Maritimes and eat all over. This restaurant is without a doubt our favourite experience in the region in the past 15 years.

I had French onion soup and the broth was perhaps the best I've ever had. I also had the Kaiser schnitzel and it was heavenly. My wife had the lobster linguine and it was to die for. There was three times the lobster compared to what you would receive in Halifax or Charlottetown. The sun was setting, the water was nice...it couldn't have been more perfect. From the moment we stepped in and saw the decor we knew this was a little slice of heaven!
