As usual, it was an amazing meal and experience. However, we were disappointed to hear that they were going to be closing in two weeks and then redoing the restaurant into some other type. Hope it is as good as this one.
The ambiance is lovely and the meal excellent. The dishes were clever and delicious. The reverse bacon wrapped scallops were creative but not enough balance. The pork override the scallops shaving. The venison was wonderful, the pickled strawberries with the foie gras brilliant and the dessert (rootbeer float adjacent) was so clever and the flavors perfect. If you find yourself anywhere near Annapolis Royal, you would be doing your taste buds a disservice by not eating here. Quite possibly the best restaurant in Nova Scotia. In fact, it is good enough to be worth the trip to the area just to eat here. The meal equalled (and for some courses, exceeded) the one we had at a Michelin starred restaurant in the Netherlands a week prior.
