We stopped in for a coffee and snack on our trip from Ontario.
We were greeted and served by the baker's daughter who was knowledgeable, kind and provided us with a great experience.
A must visit when in the area.

Delicious baked goods! A must visit whenever in town. Highly recommend!
On a cold day snowy day with all the bluster of a maritime winter, this was the perfect choice for a supper and pint. The service was pleasant and accommodating, the surroundings comfortable and filled with the scent of fresh baked goods and the food wonderful. My tummy filled, I left with a the full intent to return as soon as I can.

Lovely little bakery with a great selection and personable staff! We spent entirely too much but had to try almost one of everything and it was all delicious
Brilliant homemade soup and German salami sandwich

Not worth the expense. We had two cookies, a tea and a coffee....$24!! The cookies were not that memorable, the tea was made with tap, chlorinated water, which tasted horrid and smelled like pool water, coffee wasn't much better. Keep your money and go elsewhere.

Only wanted a coffee much to the disgust of the woman serving. $15 for two lattes. Rip off.

Today at the Annapolis Royal Farmer's Market we chose a blueberry turnover from the German Bakery. No prices were displayed. Not a very friendly server put it in a bag and announced the price of $7.50. We were shocked but paid and went away hoping it was going to be delicious. Wrong, lots of blueberry filling but dry and not at all flakey like a turnover should be. Very disappointing and we regret buying it without speaking our mind, had the prices been posted it would have been a no brainer.

No prices listed, mediocre drinks, overpriced pasteries, the woman helping serve us seemed upset at our very existence, sorry that we simply wanted to get some coffee. Would not go back, would not reccomend

We stopped here on our way back from a weekend in Digby, so glad we stopped! Authentic German baking by authentic German family....so delicious!!! A great variety of goods, and we didn't take advantage, but some cool beers from the German region available. Have to go back again for sure!!!

Aside from pricing, the pastries are very good. We usually get cookies and a strudel. The pretzels aren’t great, so I usually pass. But everything else has always been good.
I hear people saying here that the service is bad - it’s not - it’s 1 waitress with a place full of people - so yes, she’s probably tired and stressed! Every time I’ve been there, she’s lovely. Yes, she’s to the point, but also it could also just be the culture that’s a bit more direct.
