Everything about our experience was amazing. Very comfortable and welcoming. I highly recommend this gem.

Went in to see what they had, no prices posted, food looked good.... bought a pastry and a cookie - was fair at best. Cookie was dry and crumbly and left a coating in your mouth. I was told the pastry was filled with apples and cream cheese (was a good 2 inches high) it had a small piece of apple un it... soooo disappointing. To top it off it was just shy of $20 for a cookie and pastry.... definitely NOT worth the money, will never go back!

We drove in to Annapolis Royal to see the sights, decided to find somewhere for lunch. So, we decided to stop for a sandwich and whatever else the bakery might have in the early afternoon. A spatzel sandwich with potato salad was a great choice, with a donut on the side to finish our lunch. If you’re in Annapolis Royal to see the sights, this bakery is just across the street from the fort. You’ll be happy!!

Amazing baked goods! Always fresh!

Our family of three adults (my husband, adult son and I) absolutely loved this restaurant today. The food was fantastic (authentic and homemade German dishes) and our server, despite being very busy on a stat holiday) took the time and effort to provide excellent customer service.

Great apple strudel and other baked goods.

Excellent pastries and extra friendly service.

Rude and horrible customer service!
Woman behind counter YELLED “wait” to my niece when she walked in line. Other employees also knocked child with pastry tray and didn’t acknowledge it.
Walked in with my family to get a strudel. Woman behind counter said “make up your mind” when I asked for a different item than the one I asked for first.

Very aggressive, unwelcoming and unprofessional service.

Unfortunately there was a “sorry, we’re closed” sign on the door today and we took a detour here for free to buy German bread. Maybe it's a lack of staff, as is so often the case - but the communicated opening times could still be corrected. I don't even know: Will it open again tomorrow or will the store stay closed forever...

Too bad and annoying.

Well, if the waitress was happy about customers, she was really good at hiding it. The cookies, cinnamon rolls and cake were ok to delicious but the price... WOW
No wonder there were no price tags in the display. Otherwise you would probably have bought a little less. 4 small particles for a whopping $25!!!

Completely overpriced!!!

Gesa Straciatella (Straciatella)

If you look at the reviews here afterwards, you really wonder why open price transparency isn't introduced. 25 dollars for 4 pieces of pastry is already steep and when it comes to the service (German), one can only say to all visitors: not all Germans are as emotionless and unfriendly as this service. Too bad! Being friendly costs nothing!
