Francis and the team are fantastic!
Wonderful fixed price meal. Pricey but you really received gourmet prepared entrees, appetizers and fantastic desert. Wine pairing option was accurate and well matched. Our server was patient in explaining the various dishes and service was just right. Terrific ambience in a beautiful setting.
The service at Founders House was as you would expect, attentive, polite, and hospitable. The food preparation was excellent with visually appealing dishes presented in a beautiful manner. The chef de partie clearly has talent as the desserts were particularly beautiful. The food was good overall, however, it was not memorable. It was good, but nothing set it apart from other fine dining establishments. The portions were also on the small size, as we had the three-course set menu and left hungry...
We had the 6 course tasting menu paired with an exquisite red wine recommended by the sommelier. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Everything was creatively prepared and served at a relaxed but attentive pace. It was a lovely evening from start to finish.
As always, dinner at Founders was exceptional—the menu was exciting and excellent, the service impeccable, the atmosphere relatively quiet for conversation. It's a memorable experience, one that we look forward to every summer. The extensive bar and cocktail possibilities are unique esp. for the area it serves. They deserve a Michelin star.
Everything was amazing. We celebrated our anniversary dinner last night and this gem of a place was such a treat. Delicious gourmet food...authentic service...great atmosphere. Thank-you!
Sunday brunch is incredible! Service perfect. Will be coming back soon.

Fter being told this place was good for food, we were all disappointed.
Ordered a burger, it was dry, gravy not hot, fries cold on plate. Others ordered lobster Roll which was a cold roll, not as good as other places and fries cold, certainly not worth 30$. Fish was ok but batter was very oily and fries cold, Cesar drink was very good but not worth 12$ as other places is more like 8$. They brought some fresh hot fries but it was to late. Should not have been served in the first place and they were quite overdone and that's they are dark brown.
Chipstands have better food, and I have to say the food I had at Mahone bay pub was 5x better and cheaper.

Took a chance and didn’t book a reservation. Had a lovely meal on the sunny patio and had excellent service. Very accommodating despite being super busy with just two staff on. Will for sure be returning customers!

drinks were good. Took 1 hr before getting our food. The fries were cold, burger dry, gravy was not hot. The servers were good, just not up to par on the food being hot. Food was overcooked. lobster roll was cold and not a warm food. Disappointed after hearing it was a good place to eat.
What an incredible find. The food is absolutely delicious, the service very attentive and fun. We love that they support all local products, so this is a truly Nova Scotian experience which hits the ball out of park on quality and taste.
We wanted to dine here because we'd heard such wonderful things about the experience, so we went in with very high expectations. And those expectations were exceeded in every category. The food was incredible - no detail was missed with the flavours, the textures, or the presentation. It was artistic. The staff was very friendly and courteous, and the ambiance/decor was as detailed as the food. This was one of our best dining experiences in Nova Scotia (and we come here every year). We'll make it a point to return every time we're in the area.
