Wonderful evening out with hubby! Dined in at bar side. Always fun to converse with your server. He offered detailed descriptions of everything from bevvies to the best cuts of steaks offered. We enjoyed delish oysters!… local from Sober Island. Loved the warm olives! And homemade ice cream for dessert. One of our best evenings out! And it’s local! ❤️
One of the more trendy restaurants in Antigonish with a varied menu that changes up somewhat regularly. My wife and I got take out after a recommendation from friends, and everything was well prepared and traveled well. The confit pork belly bowl was very succulent and well marinated. The squid ink risotto tasted quite good with a solid amount of calamari and scallops. We also got the garlic focaccia bread as a side and were very happy with it.

Got in from the Waitlist via the Reservation system so it works everyone! Jam packed. Food delicious. Service a bit slow but understandable given how each dish is individually prepared. A great evening!

We tried several dishes, which were all very tasty and creative. My only critique is that the calamari was a tad too salty. The service was friendly but a bit inattentive (didn't refill water, brought side plates but no extra utensils to help with serving when we indicated plans to share the dishes among our group). Non-alcoholic drinks were overpriced and served in very skinny highball glasses mostly filled with ice. We really enjoyed the meal, but the overall experience was a bit less than extraordinary.

As always, the Townhouse was exceptional on all fronts. Caitlin’s hospitality is so welcoming and the servers are knowledgeable. The food is fresh, innovative, and delicious. The best dining experience in Nova Scotia. We are always sure we stop by when we are on holiday in tge area!

Expensive for what they offer you. They are friendly, but keep you waiting and forget you at thr table. You have to ask twice for everything, even to pay.

Awesome place to check out! One of the best old fashions i've ever had, and thats without bourbon due to the tariffs.
I had the seared scallops and they were amazing. As someone who travels a-lot I've tried scallops every way possible and these are some of the best I've had. (Not a huge portion), but the blend with pork belly and mash, with the reduction was spot on!
Also did the iceberg wedge. Which was again amazing. more pork belly homemade ranch, blue cheese local radishes. Topped with chives and sesame. Truly delightful.
Vibe and atmosphere is very Morrison hotel, with a nice bar and multiple seating areas.
Server was great!
All in all great experience! Would recommend to anyone!

Great food but trying to sit a walk on for 8 was a disaster on a Saturday night. 90 minutes outside then being told our mains were going to arrive boxed to go as there were kids in our party. I imagine great if you’re a couple or small group. Food is lovely but we got absolutely screwed.

Cozy place with a welcoming vibe. Loved the eclectic antique china, warm wood bar and tables, and casual yet special feel. We made a reservation online and were welcomed and seated immediately. The menu was different than what we saw online - no seafood chowder - but the meal we had was delicious. I had the beet salad - amazing combination of flavors and textured from the warmish beets, tangy dressing, crunchy toasted hazelnuts and chunks of cojito cheese. So good. My husband had lobster biscuits and gravy. It was a smaller portion than he expected but he loved it! Lobster claw meat was so sweet. We also had a dozen oysters on the half shell which were delicious. Our server made the night with his friendly banter and helpful information about the Cabot Trail. Dinner wasn't fast - plan to have a cocktail or beer and enjoy the experience of a tasty meal. Afterwards, walk down a few blocks for an ice cream. Just a nice night!

The food was excellent, the stuff was super friendly and nice! I quite liked the atmosphere! The cheeseburger is a must try!
A very nice detail was that the restrooms had some woman hygiene products, which I rarely see!

The service was steller, the drinks were quick, but the food did not measure up.
After being informed that a couple of items were not available which is fine, myself and accompanying college both fell to a menu substitution. Although tasty, was disappointing at the same time. The shrimp pasta overall was not a win. The shrimp was perfect, with a flavourful pepper crisp inspired sauce, layered with care. The pasta was overcooked with minimal texture. The value of The Townhouse rests in the service.
