We had a great time listening to live music. Beautiful property and great beer.

Chicken burger: thin and dry for $20 for just that… I don’t recommend. Disappointing.

A great place to stop in and enjoy a beer. The venue is stellar and very inviting. The beer is tasty, and you'll want to bring some home with you.

Big Spruce Brewing is a mandatory stop for anyone traveling on Cape Breton Island, offering far more than just exceptional beer. This certified organic, on-farm brewery is perfectly situated in Nyanza, providing stunning views of the Bras d'Or Lake—a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and welcoming; it’s kid- and dog-friendly, making it a great place to spend an entire afternoon. You can grab a flight or a pint of their delicious brews, which range from their flagship Kitchen Party Pale Ale to the rich Cereal Killer Oatmeal Stout, and settle in on the sprawling outdoor patio. Their commitment to organic farming and high-quality ingredients truly shines through in every glass.
Add to this the delicious food truck (Rose's Smash Burgers) and occasional live music, and you have a destination that perfectly captures the spirit of the East Coast. Whether you’re stocking up on growlers or just taking a break from the road, Big Spruce is a genuine Cape Breton highlight

A very nice retreat where there are outdoor games for both adults and kids, great beer and food. The addition of live music was very special indeed

Big Spruce brewing is a member of harvest hosts. This brewery and the experience you have there are outstanding. The beers are delicious and the food truck is almost gourmet. Never had deep-fried pepperonis with these were stellar as were the smash burgers. The hospitality was unrivaledover any other brewery. We stopped at. Simply a fantastic experience.

Wonderful spot! So many beer choices! Two separate bars with choices for everyone!
We didn’t eat today at the food truck but it smelled amazing. Last time we enjoyed their burger and fries and they were great! There was live music, lots of happy people, dogs, kids enjoying a beautiful NS end of summer day! Lots of open spaces and picnic tables, seating and an indoor space as well!
Lawn games for kids and adults to indulge in.
The staff is always amazing!

Wide selection of very good beer on tap and in growlers and cans. Friendly service accompanied by music and onsite food truck many days. Great view overlooking the Bras d'Or lakes.

IPAs seem their specialty with IBUs from 30 to over 60. Good flavours.

Great beer, great burgers, great views. Anchor near public wharf and walk 1km down road.

Don’t feel welcomed here as we are not introduced or informed of the tasting. We only found that other people have this pack after we ordered draft at bar.
