great place to sit inside or outside, lots of options. tried an iced latte with some homemade strawberry syrup and it was so tasty. went back another day for a hot latte (delicious) and also got the vegan/ gluten free oatcakes and they were my oat latte's best friend. my partner got the lox bagel and we had to go back again because he liked it so much. super nice staff, well worth the visit. will definitely come here again next time we are in NS

We stopped by Highwater Cafe to pick up lunch for our drive along the Cabot Trail, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our day. From the moment we walked in, Rose made us feel so welcome—she was incredibly friendly and full of helpful suggestions for our route and stops.
I had the Italian sandwich on focaccia and I’m still thinking about it. The bread was fresh, pillowy, and flavorful, and the fillings were perfectly balanced. Every bite was delicious. We also grabbed a couple of desserts and they were equally amazing.
If you're passing through, do yourself a favor and stop here. Highwater Cafe is a must-visit spot for great food, warm service, and a perfect start to your Cabot Trail adventure.

The only place to go in Baddeck if you want a great coffee and baked goods experience. Service is welcoming and friendly. We sampled many items from the fresh baked goods - the strawberry pop tarts were the standout on this day. Highly recommend.

Everyone that worked there felt like a good friend. The coffee was AMAZING 🤩 much appreciated after a long ferry ride. Worth the minimal drive off the highway. They hand roll their bagels, my daughter had that and wouldn’t share. Three of us had the traditional breakfast. They had a porridge bread to die for. Also, their potatoes were unreal, “deadly”, roasted potatoes if you're going traditional. Our coffees were decorated with hearts, which felt fitting, given the circumstances of our trip. Nothing will disappoint you here.
Stopped here for lunch on a road trip. Ordered the roast beef sandwich which was on fresh homemade bread which my husband and I shared. Bought a package of chocolate-dipped peanut butter filled oatcakes which were delicious. Place was busy but service was excellent. Just the kind of local gem we hope for on a road trip!
