Our entree was awful. When I asked for more sauce the hostess brought us salad dressing. It was a disaster we had to pay for

We were told at hotel reception that the restaurant was booked solid from 6- close but we could be seated if we went at 5. We were able to book an online reservation for 6:30 and then sat in a nearly empty restaurant for over an hour. Not sure what that was about-
Our food was just Ok: very overpriced for what we received. The oysters weren’t great- and served with some sort of vinaigrette in a plastic container. Our seafood pasta was flavorless and the cream sauce was runny. The dessert was an “oatcake sundae” which was a normal ice cream sundae with an oatcake on top.
My husband then ordered a coffee which arrived in a diner mug with a bowl of plastic creamers. All this would be fine if we weren’t being charged $44 for an entree, but that wasn’t the case. Our server was friendly, but it ultimately didn’t make up for the lack of quality in the food.

Positively the worst hotel breakfast I can remember. Over cooked fish cakes, very little choice and a Danish pastry I couldn't eat. My dinnerlast night was ok but my partner's was inedible. Such a shame when it's such a lovely location.

Well I already wrote a lengthy review but when I clicked on the ? For do you want yo send a private note to the restaurant my review was gone! Not impressed but that had to do with the app not the restaurant. Anyways when we first arrived I was a bit concerned as the outside of the building isn't fancy at all. Not what I expected but the food was outstanding! My husband had the brisket which I also tasted and it was so delicious and tender. I had the seafood fettuccine which was very good as well. We did have mussels for an appetizer which were great and a good sized amount. We both had dessert which was blueberry grouts and a lemon cake. I did not try the groats as I was quite full but the cake was lovely with a beautiful tart lemon filling and some strawberries and syrup and some whipped cream. I didn't care for the whipped cream as it was from a can but that was a minor complaint on my part. Our waiter was lovely and attentive. He was new but did check up on us enough throughout his busy evening. We appreciated getting to know him a little bit and how far he came (from Sydney) to work there.
Good and lobster’s knowledgeable server from Nepal. Very appreciative he helped cracking the shells. Wish him the best !
Great view, awesome waitress ,,,highly recommend,,,hostess actually stopped by our table for a chat 👍
I had the lobster roll. Fresh large chucks of sweet lobster served on a grilled bun with fries! Fabulous
The food was delicious and while the service was very polite the restaurant was nearly empty and it took an hour for our food to arrive and the kids pasta was very obviously reheated.
Stellar dinner and a wonderful establishment. Excellent time and food, both local curated. Jackie was a stellar server and very knowledgeable. Would staunchly recommend that any one passing through Baddeck Nova Scotia make plans to enjoy a terrific dinner there. Absolutely spectacular.

We were unfortunately moved to an outer inside table with a less desirable view. My understanding relayed by the head concierge that a tour group was being seated after us. Food and presentation was good 4/5.
The overall experience was only fair. Our greeting upon entering the dining room was not warm or welcoming, more bothersome and rushed. The table was not clean and poorly set. The Thai Chicken Bites - The oil was not clean and was too hot, the chicken was not cut to uniform sizes so the larger pieces were cooked well but all others were overdone, near burnt. I would also recommend changing the rice paper cup (saturated with grease) to maybe a wonton cup? Braised Beef - seemed more boiled then properly braised, overdone and dry. The demi seemed to be of premade quality and not homemade, the zucchini and carrots were over steamed to mush and garlic mashed were grainy and lacked the garlic or well seasoned flavor. Tuscan Chicken Penne - there was no indication of pre or final preparation seasoning, the sauce lacked depth of flavor and the 3 small pieces of chicken breast was short of what was expected. I must give a positive note to the bartender which did a very good job at the 2 beverages my wife and I had ordered. The overall dining experience fell quite short of what was expected and our experience fell quite short of our bill amount. I'm am writing from past years of food industry experience from all levels of dining and food preparation. This review is not to gain anything in return but to hopefully help in some areas of improvement so future guests may be in receipt of a pleasant and valuable dining experience.
