If you’re looking for a mosquito-free place to watch the sun set over the South Gut, this restaurant offers beautiful views. The staff is friendly and the decor is exactly what you’d expect and want in a waterfront seafood eatery. The food however leaves much to be desired. For $91.92 (after tax), we got a fair-to-small sized cut of Salmon, some steamed frozen-not-fresh flavourless carrots & parsnips, and two scoops of strangely desiccated and cold mashed potatoes.We also had a small cup of chowder and a soft drink.To cap the meal off, there was a very drunk older woman sat directly behind us that kept yelling and berating her husband with a string of swearing and homophobic slurs that was frankly, quite impressive, but perhaps belongs at a pub and not a family restaurant.The staff just ignored it and let her go on until she got bored and left.Hardly the fault of the Restaurant, but definitely a detractor of the experience as a whole that could have been dealt with by a manager or owner.Definitely not the romantic birthday dinner we had planned for my wife while visiting the east coast for the first time.Mediocre food in a Gorgeous location.“Come for the view, not the food”.

Had an amazing dinner with the lobster and chocolate torte to finish ! Our server was wonderful, funny , kind and delightful ?I told her how much I enjoyed the chocolate torte,,, y'all ,,, she sent me the recipe!!! Love for this place and all the people working there .Dietary restrictions: Had a person who needed gluten free options , the staff had no problems assisting us with that.

This is a great spot on the Cabot Trail !! The seafood was really scrumptious and the service was excellent. We had soup and lobster with haddock fish on the side with some salads. Its easy to get to, especially when you are entering the Cabot Trail. Stop in here for sure since there is not a lot of other places to eat and this one is really good.

You can get lobster pretty much anywhere in Baddeck, but this spot, about 10 minutes up the road, is worth the trip. They keep lobsters of multiple weights in a proper tank, so when they say fresh, they mean it. Lobster is steamed and cracked and served with a choice of potatoes or corn. And butter. Lots of butter. The mussels are a nice starter. We shared a bucket of tender, tasty mussels in a very light wine brine with some toast to sop it all up. Don't wear anything fancy; even with the tea towels they supply, you will probably end up with a good amount of this mean on your person. Just saying. Staff are friendly and the service is great. Oh, did I mention the fantastic views? Absolutely stunning, even on a rainy day.

Food is delicious both me and my partner were very satisfied! A clean atmosphere, nicely decorated on the inside! When asking for gluten free options the waiter was very helpful and accommodated my request, I appreciated this greatly! (Non battered fish cakes with Caesar salad, no croutons) it was an overall great experience and I definitely recommend.
It was very tasty and in good portion. Well worth the time. Reasonable prices too. Excellent sea food.

Found this spot online right off the 105 in Baddeck. Great experience & pet friendly patio. Great food,we had the Lobster dinners & brought some chowder home for supper. Absolutely delicious, A+ staff. Highly recommend. $$
