Worst Experience to the extreme; The waiter's attitude was like we owed them tens of thousands of dollars. Mao Xuewang was crispy as plastic. The fried crab had a really bad smell. Only one egg you can find in the Stir-fried tomato and scrambled eggs. It was better to eat prepared dishes at home than here. How it makes itself a Chinese restaurant. If you want to take an experience in Chinese food plz do not choose here.

We live in Vancouver BC and have very high expectations for Asian Cuisine.

We are in the process of moving to Lunenburg and realized we would be giving up this type of food.

We found Modern Orchid in Bedford and our lunch was superb.

Deep fried spicy lobster, special seafood fried rice, spicy tofu, egg plant and green beans. Beer and wine with a nice cocktail menu.

We couldn’t have had a nicer lunch.
Husband and Wife took care of us and just made the experience even better.

We will be back and happy to have found a hidden gem in Bedford.

They have two different menus at this restaurant. One has more Canadianized Chinese food (fusion menu) and the other leans into authentic Chinese food. Overall the food here is very well prepared and you can tell the cooks have a passion for the dishes. The employees are also very friendly. At some point, I plan to go back here and try the roast duck dish.

I just tried modern orchid after deciding my husband and I were in the mood for Chinese food. We ordered the typical items. Egg-rolls, beef fried rice, spare ribs, chicken wings, wontons.
First, the eggrolls tasted like curry and I really don’t like the taste of curry. The rice was tasteless and the beef pieces in the rice was undercooked and all fat. The chicken wings also reeked of curry. I think my husband said it best that the aftertaste was very unpleasant. The food was pretty gross. The ribs and wontons were okay. I don’t think I’d ever go back as it was entirely disappointing, especially considering how expensive it was. We usually keep leftovers for the next day but we threw almost the entire order in the garbage.

The food has some flaws, but that's acceptable
The large intestine should still be cooked for a little longer. It’s chewy but not chewy.
The hairy blood is prosperous and there is no smell. It still needs a little longer time.
I've never tasted saliva chicken with sesame sauce, but it's okay. It's okay to try it once in a while.
Pea sprouts (probably) are the best, no MSG added

As a former employee of the restaurant, I strongly discourage people from going there to eat. Unless you want to eat fried rice for more than a month. And if you find cigarette ash and other things that should not be in your food, don't be surprised. Their employees do smoke in the kitchen, and they don't care if other things end up in your food. The management keeps all of customers tips and they won’t share any tips to server.
