I just tried modern orchid after deciding my husband and I were in the mood for Chinese food. We ordered the typical items. Egg-rolls, beef fried rice, spare ribs, chicken wings, wontons.
First, the eggrolls tasted like curry and I really don’t like the taste of curry. The rice was tasteless and the beef pieces in the rice was undercooked and all fat. The chicken wings also reeked of curry. I think my husband said it best that the aftertaste was very unpleasant. The food was pretty gross. The ribs and wontons were okay. I don’t think I’d ever go back as it was entirely disappointing, especially considering how expensive it was. We usually keep leftovers for the next day but we threw almost the entire order in the garbage.
The person who took our order was quite rude as well

The food has some flaws, but that's acceptable
The large intestine should still be cooked for a little longer. It’s chewy but not chewy.
The hairy blood is prosperous and there is no smell. It still needs a little longer time.
I've never tasted saliva chicken with sesame sauce, but it's okay. It's okay to try it once in a while.
Pea sprouts (probably) are the best, no MSG added

As a former employee of the restaurant, I strongly discourage people from going there to eat. Unless you want to eat fried rice for more than a month. And if you find cigarette ash and other things that should not be in your food, don't be surprised. Their employees do smoke in the kitchen, and they don't care if other things end up in your food. The management keeps all of customers tips and they won’t share any tips to server.

Hunan chicken was flavourful and fresh, my second visit here and the service is awfully disappointing. On my first visit I dined in and the server told me the management keeps the tips and they don’t treat employees well. Overall the food was delicious and the take out portions are small.

We came here for dinner after being recommended by someone?. We ordered ginger and onion lobster , salted chicken, braised beef brisket, marinated four-piece, and fermented bean curd vegetable. As a Cantonese who likes something lighter, I also thought it tasted good??

I've ordered here many times, had many great meals and never had any issues. However, I was extremely upset tonight when I placed an order and, after 90minutes of waiting, I called the restaurant and was told they would not deliver because I did not pre-pay a tip online. Apparently, tips are not optional for timely, excellent service anymore. Tips are now required to get any service at all. I definitely do not agree with this approach. Prices are already high. Give me good service and I'll be happy to tip. But it's not a pre-paid guarantee.

The chef's skills are really bad, and tipping is mandatory. The waiter's attitude was even worse. The authentic fish-flavored shredded pork is made of shredded bamboo shoots and carrots, sea cucumber, fungus, and shredded pork.

Inedible garbage. It’s amazing that a place like this can even stay open, had their ginger beef, egg rolls and spring rolls. Some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I tried three restaurants in the same block as this one and they were all god awful.
