If visiting here wear warm clothing if sitting outside as it got chilly once the sun went down.
So glad they supplied us with blankets !!!

Food was very good. We had fish & chips and lobster roll. We were served right away but waited 45 minutes for our food.

Great location situated at the head of the Chester Basin overlooking the ocean. Wait staff were personable and friendly. This will be a frequent restaurant for us to visit.

A gathering of 13 of us and they managed very well. 12 had fish and chips that were well received.

Lobster roll was amazing, my boyfriend’s fish and chips looked so good too! sitting out on their patio was so nice over looking the water.

Our waitress was lovely, she was very attentive and kind and made the experience great. All the other staff were very pleasant as well!

Had dinner on the way back from a less than inspiring Lunenburg and this was the days highlight. Very fresh and well prepared seafood in a casual setting. Seafood chowder was tops. Portions are not huge but the preparation and flavor are perfect.

Food was expensive for the quality. The calamari was extremely chewy and lacked flavour. The beet salad had hardly any beets.

Wonderful server! Great food ! Serving size good for me but perhaps c or old be a little bigger for my male partner! Sorry to hear we were there on last weekend of the season due to slow business these past few weeks! Looking forward to their reopening in the New Year!

Had a fantastic lunch at the Seaside Shanty! The decor is charming, the view is beautiful, and the food is absolutely delicious. Staff is friendly. I enjoyed the best cheesecake I’ve ever had! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m near Oak Island.

We stopped in specifically for the ceviche, which was listed on the website, but unfortunately the in-restaurant menu had been changed to a new season before our visit. Despite this intial disappointment, everything we tried was delicious. There are several gluten free options, however they were not marked on the menu.

The service was a bit disappointing though. Only one waiter was serving the entire restaurant so naturally, we had quite a long wait.

Sit on the patio if you can! The place was absolutely slammed when we were there (5:30ish on a Saturday) and there was only one poor server working. Turns out it was only her fourth shift (!) but she handled everything beautifully. Bit of a wait, but totally understandable considering how many tables she was juggling. Food was fantastic, view was lovely. Highly recommend making a stop here!
