Sat here for 30 minutes waiting for the waiter to take our order! He was enjoying his chit chat more than doing his work.

Hot and delicious portions are generous and well cooked (perfect crisp) with authentic Chinese flavours like fresh ginger and garlic.
Staff is very lovely and quick to bring the food out - ps fortune cookies were stale !

Literally just ate at the House Of Wong. My brother noticed a dead fly under his chicken balls. My brother proceeds to take his plate to the server. We don't hear anything for a few minutes. Then my brother and I, go up to the counter to pay. My brother ask for a discount on his main dish as it had a dead fly in it. The server says "we don't cook with flies" and follows up with "I saw you walking over by the rail where there are dead flies." Implied that my brother picked up a fly and placed it in his plate. Very disappointed in the end result of this situation. And to blame a customer for planting a dead fly. This is the receipt showing the minus -$5.00 for the fly when he had over half a plate of food left over.

It was the usual combination plate...maybe had we ordered single dishes it may have been better..

The good stuff: the portion sizes are awesome. They have family meal options that are, in fact, a deal that come in full portion sizes. We left stuffed. There is also variety in the family meal options. Appetizers and entrees.
The crispy noodles to start are excellent and came with a homemade sweet and sour sauce.
Everything was well cooked and had a great variety of vegetables in the dishes.

The other stuff:
Now, to be fair, I'm from the US, and perhaps this is how canadian Chinese food is served. But, the egg rolls had a sweet ground beef and cabbage mixture. Not bad. Just, different. The chow mein was pile of stir fried bean sprouts. Not bad, but for sure, not what we were thinking.

You're assuming, or at least we were, that you're getting dried rice and meet and veggie and a noodle dish (in the family meal), and that isn't the case.

Is the decor dated - sure. But it's kind of old school, classy Asian.

All in all, we'd go back. Maybe ask a few more questions, but for sure, leave full.

Dietary restrictions: Need to warn people with allergies that shellfish is also deep fried with other foods (egg rolls, chicken or pork balls, etc.) creating risks of an anaphylactic reaction or getting sick.

The food was okay, not great.

but the place is not clean. You can see the carpet is full of food from the previous day.

We arrived first thing in the morning at 11:45 am, so the food must have been from previous days.

Food was very bland and cheap. Some of the items weren’t fully cooked. Egg rolls were totally disgusting with some cabbage mixture inside them. We got take out and went to eat on the water front and ended up throwing 95% of the food in the trash and went to get a pizza. Gave 2 stars because the person on the phone was very friendly. Possibly good for a small town but if you’re used to good Chinese food you’ll be very disappointed.

Food is good and the prices are reasonable. Staff are friendly. The French fries use to be amazing, didn't like them this time around. My go to is usually the combo meals.

Food was fresh and great looking, service awesome But the food was the most bland Chinese I have ever tasted, general Tao chicken and triple delight, but although the veggies were crisp and great looking they had zeto taste and the general Tao was beyond bland, the menu says it’s “hot” dish but nope no spice, no mouth burn and no flavor.
We were recommended to eat here but will not return. The food was below average.
We have been fortunate enough to have traveled on three continents and have eaten everything from street food to Michelin star and this place really disappointed us.
