I really don’t like giving poor reviews, but the experience here was abysmal. We showed up, were sat, and ordered within 5 minutes. All seemed well. We were brought another tables breakfast- twice. Then we were brought the wrong order. We were close to leaving when they finally brought out the right thing- 45 minutes later. The waiter was kind but seemed to be struggling and even needed the dishwasher to point out when we were ready to pay and leave. The food was okay. The potatoes aren’t as they’re shown on the menu, they’re hash browns and not home made potatoes.
Either way, hate to say it, but not worth the stop. I love a greasy spoon but this was too long of a wait for meh food.

Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. I just wish there were more options for those with dietary restrictions.

We arrived after finding this place on google looking for a good breakfast. We sat ourselves and had to wave at the gentleman waiter to get his attention. After asking twice, over the next 15 minutes, where our coffee was and being told it was still brewing, we got up and left. While we were waiting we watched another couple who arrived shortly after us get up and leave as they were not even acknowledged during their time there. Very poor, slow service. Do not recommend!!

Traditional restaurant (diner).
Ideal for a light or hearty breakfast.
The welcome is very warm, the coffee flows freely, the pancakes are very large and plump and the maple syrup is unlimited!
Ideal for tourists wanting to immerse themselves in North American culture - the restaurant is frequented by locals.

I came here with a group of 21 and the staff were very accommodating. Our waitress Tammy was exceptional. She is energetic, hard working, fun and has a great sense of humor. She and her sister Donna go above and beyond to make sure everyone's needs are met. If you want warm and friendly service and a big breakfast at a reasonable price Josie's is the place to go in Digby.

The gentlemen who waited on us went above and beyond to give us top service.
The food is good and affordable.
Fun retro-60s diner environment, friendly to bikers truckers and us long-ranging adventurers.
Opens early for breakfast, and they serve it all day.

Josie’s Place is an absolute treasure! This restaurant serves delicious home-style food that makes you feel right at home. Cozy place with nice decor and wall paintings. This is one of the very few breakfast options early in the morning in downtown area.
Had been there for a brunch around 11:30, saw people still finishing their breakfasts.
The seafood dishes are particularly outstanding, with fresh, flavorful options that are cooked to perfection. The only disappointment for me was, they don’t have any seafood platter or lobsters. We ordered seafood chowder, fish and chips, butter garlic scallops and the pancakes for kids. Portion size was good and yummy n tasty.
It took a little time to get our order, the wait was well worth it. The quality and taste of the food more than made up for the wait.
I highly recommend Josie’s Place to anyone looking for a fantastic meal with a touch of home. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We love this local dive diner. Great breakfast and great service! My only complaint was that the seafood chowder was tiny for the price.

Dirty, bad service and cheap. They always leave something out hoping you don’t realize. Like not serving you potatoes with your breakfast. Gave them many chances, always disappointed

The food was delicious other than the processed cheese that kind of threw off the whole homemade vibe. However, waited over an hour for sandwiches and fries with no apology for the wait time, no refills for coffee, and the table wasn't checked on once after food arrived. The restaurant really seemed to prioritize take out as opposed to the people in the diner.
