Boondocks Restaurant

Boondocks used to be a great place to go all year round. We went off-tourist season with friends for a Christmas dinner / evening. Not bad at all, really, but nothing impressive either.

This is a big and very atmospheric restaurant. There is a spacious hall inside, as well as an equally spacious summer veranda with the view on the water. Nice thematic decoration. The waiters are friendly, the prices are adequate for such a place, but I would like a portions to be 1/3 more for such a price. I ordered <<Maple salmon>> and homemade cream soda, my wife took <<Seafood chowder>>, <<Cheesy Garlic Bread>> and black tea.
I can characterize our entire order as follows: quite tasty, but nothing special. In the sense that there are no complaints about the dishes, but I can’t praise them for anything either. I liked the taste of my fish but it was like slightly sweet with a glazed taste, and no "maple tones". And I read another person's review: He wrote that instead of seafood he tasted only potatoes. Well, potatoes really contribute to the overall taste to think in such a manner, but there was definitely seafood parts too.
So, overall I would tell that this place will be 7 out from 10 for me. Normal, tasty, atmospheric, but I don't know if I would come here again. And it seemed strange to me that at such a time on a weekend there was no one here. In the hour that we spent here I saw only one other occupied table. However, I may not be correctly assessing the "busy period" for this part of the city.

An excellent seafood restaurant with exceptional staff. Our waitress arranged for me to use the restaurant phone to make a hotel reservation because my phone wouldn't work outside the U.S. Great food also!

You need to come here during the season. In November or December. At other times there are no fresh lobsters.

Every time I have been here, it has been a pleasant experience. But I must confess that I have never been when they are crowded. It is a family oriented restaurant with a separate area for adults. There are also fun activities for children. The menu has a higher percentage of gluten free items that I have seen.

Family style restaurant serving up INCREDIBLE fish and chips and seafood. The bacon wrapped scallops were a tad overdone but still flavourful

I was at boondocks today for lunch with two friends. Neither had been to the restaurant before. I ordered the seafood chowder and was extremely disappointed in the quality and quantity . The shrimp were the little cocktail ones that you buy in a can in the grocery store, totally lacked taste . Scallops were few and far between . The broth was thick but tasteless. Sadly disappointed
