This is a wonderful place to stay off the beaten path. We stayed for one night in The Shanty after getting off the ferry. I wish I had booked a second night to just have a relaxing break on our trip. We had a great water view and a deck to enjoy it. Elana was very helpful. Our cabin was clean and stocked with the necessities. Definitely would recommend staying here.
Excellent sunset views, got a window seat and a beautiful show from Mother Nature! The food was very good as well.
This is a 5 Star location that you would expect to see at a big resort
Amazing spot right on water. Nice dinning option in restaurant with beautiful views
Such a wonderful spot outside Yarmouth! The food and setting were unreal.
My wife and I were doing a road trip through the valley and around the south shore. We needed a place part way through the trip to overnight and a quick Google search of the area revealed the Argyler with very favourable reviews, a wonderful spot just on the ocean, and excellent service.
We arrived later in the evening on a Monday with a reservation for a garden view room. A quick survey of the property showed several very cute looking cottages looking out over the water. So I asked, and for a marginal upgrade cost, we were the proud renters of a beautiful cottage overlooking a somewhat foggy coastline. We were checked in by Elana, one of the owners, and who was absolutely lovely to talk to.
It was perfection. Clean, great view and all the amenities you would need. We had a great sleep and enjoyed coffee on the deck the next day. We enjoyed an amazing breakfast in the main building before the other owner, John, checked us out. The property was amazing, the owners are fabulous people, and I could not more highly recommend the Argyler. You won’t be disappointed!
Fantastic spot on the west shore of Nova Scotia, just south of Yarmouth. It felt like home, with a beautiful wrap around porch and gardens. Staff are lovely and great for sharing tips about the region.
Amazing views and a lovely evening meal
Place is gorgeous with lovely views.
Nice place. We stayed here after we got off the ferry so unfortunately we didn’t get to spend much time. Very comfortable and breakfast was good. Since we were arriving late, Host got in touch with us before we arrived to make sure we knew where we could go to get dinner and to see if she could leave anything in the room for us.

Restaurant was nice treat.Great food and service and for dessert an incredible sunset
This place is now one of my favs. Service was over-the-top IMO. Communication was great when I was arriving much later than anticipated. The setting is nothing short of spectacular as well. I would have happily stayed here all week. Staff was extremely friendly, the grounds were immaculate, and the setting quaint. Not really a place for kids but awesome for a romantic getaway.

About one-half hour from the ferry landing so very convenient
We were late getting in, but were warned that we might be (customs). Although we were not personally welcomed, the key was right were we were told. Our room was great and very comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer! Breakfast in the am (at an addtl. cost (I believe $18 each) was delicious!
Rooms: Great bed, wonderful view. Lots of books out in the hall.

Owner/staff is very hospitable. The cabin we stayed in, view of the water, was great. Breakfast was really good. We did the lobster boil on the beach, and being we are from Louisiana, we would have loved less garlic and more seasoning.
Highly recommend that you stay the night and do the lobster boil on the beach.
Rooms: The cabin was a ha
Handicap cabin, even though we are not Handicapped, my wife and I enjoyed the room.
Noteworthy details: Get the cabins that are closest to the water so you can enjoy watching the rise and fall of the tides.
