Excellent food! We loved the lobster roll, kale salad and scallops and the smash burger.

Small but mighty sit down restaurant. I treated it like a fast food joint and was not disappointed. Food came out quickly and tasted great. My waitress, Anastasia, is one of the nicest and most down to earth people, and was a pleasure to chat with.

Came here for dinner with family on a weekday night. Had their tuna tartare, heirloom tomato toast, scallop and shrimp pasta, and a bite of the best veggie burger I've ever had, the veggie burger being so good that I wish I had ordered that for dinner (tastes like a fully loaded burrito).

Our waitress was solid, but I think this place only had 2 people serving the entire restaurant. Service was definitely slow but that was no fault of the wait staff, there just weren't enough of them. The restaurant itself is also small, with the bathrooms being extremely snug and the restaurant itself not having a lot of soul in comparison to some of the other restaurants in Halifax.

That said, the food was delicious enough where I'd come back, but if you're a larger person or need a faster dinner experience, or want a more lively dinner experience, you may want to look wherever.

My husband and I had our wedding dinner here and it was a phenomenal experience. George, the owner, was extremely communicative and made our day so special. The dinner menu and food during cocktail hour was delicious. Our guests were raving about every dish! My husband and mines personal favourites were a short rib and the s’mores cheesecake. I’d highly recommend booking your private event here - the atmosphere, location, service, drinks, food were all 5 stars! Can’t wait to go back on a future anniversary.

Absolutely Fantastic – Even During the Dinner Rush!

This was my second visit in a month, and once again, I left genuinely impressed. I came during a very busy time—the restaurant was packed—but despite the crowd, the kitchen delivered flawlessly.

I had the shrimp and scallop tagliatelle, and it was absolutely delicious. The seafood was cooked perfectly—tender, flavorful, and clearly very fresh. Every bite of pasta was rich and satisfying, without being too heavy.

I also ordered the valley-grown salad, and it was just as impressive. Each component was placed with care, and the balance of textures and flavors really stood out. It felt thoughtful, not just thrown together.

Service was smooth even under pressure, and the overall atmosphere was energetic but still comfortable. It’s rare to see a place perform so consistently under pressure—definitely one of the better dining experiences I’ve had lately.

Highly recommend, and I’ll absolutely be back again soon.

A disappointing birthday celebration experience....there was only one wait staff for the first 30 minutes of our reservation leading to slow acknowledgement after being seated. Scallop, shrimp and corn entree was served with severely overcooked scallops. I had to ask the server to notify the chef. I was offered replacement scallops but as the rest of the diners had already finished their meals I declined. I was charged the full $32 for the entree with a feeble comment that the chef too was disappointed with his new cook. Neither the chef or duty manager spoke with me. Disappointed - I expected more.

Seafood heaven with flawless service, a must-visit in Halifax!

Absolutely loved my visit to 2 Doors Down, Food + Wine. I tried the seafood chowder (creamy, loaded with tender fish and shellfish), the chicken and honey onion rings (light, crisp batter and sweet). Every bite was delicious with flavours that were both complex and comforting. Even my non-alcoholic Dirty Chai-tini was fresh, balanced, and spot-on.

The Spinach and crab-crusted salmon was perfectly cooked, topped with a rich spinach and crab crust that added a savoury, slightly sweet depth to every bite. The eggplant parmesan was hearty and comforting, with tender layers of eggplant, rich tomato sauce, and golden, bubbling cheese.

The desserts were a sweet finale beautifully presented, with just the right balance of indulgence and finesse, leaving me wishing I’d saved more room.

Service was excellent. Our group of about 25 was handled with smiles, accuracy, and efficiency. The ambience is warm yet elegant; a place you can linger over great food and conversation. Highly recommend if you want a meal that’s cooked with care and full of flavour.

Ok. Hands down the friendliest, smiling crew i have encountered in a very long time. Maybe it's an east coast thing? Really tasty food, and fresh ingredients.

Disappointing Seafood experience. The cod over potatoes was tasteless and uninspiring. Their burgers looked good, but I think that is as far as it goes.

The service was super friendly. The food was outstanding. I had the smash burger (perfection!) with the hot honey onion rings (perfection also!). The wife had the seafood chowder w a biscuit (magical) and we split a halloumi broccoli salad (amazing). Hope to visit again.

Two appetizers were amazing and the brown rice risotto delicious. Overall atmosphere is nice but if you’re looking for a place for conversation it’s an open space and a little noisy.

My husband and I came for dinner this evening. We barely ever go out anymore. We didn't have a reservation but we were welcomed as soon as we walked in the door. Our server Janine was so friendly and accommodating. She was brilliant. She knew the wine selection down to the vintage of the bottles. She also knew where all the products sold were sourced. The approachable knowledge she displayed allowed us to make the best choice for our meal. The haddock is truly long line practiced and remains fresh. The chef clearly poured their heart and soul into the flavour and presentation. We were beyond impressed with the whole experience. Thank you so much. We will be back for sure.
